Co-op/racing to assassinations would be sweet. Or even leaderboards for who did an assassination the fastest/most efficiently/least non-target deaths/etc.

sweet score?

MGS is PS. MG is NES. solid was born on PS.

Anyway, An important thing to take into account with MGS4 is that the development cost is pretty huge right now. They might have to sell twice as much as motorstorm to see a good return on the investment. Considering many PS3s were purchased solely as media players, they may have to port it just because there aren't enough PS3 gamers for them to make their money back on.

Why do you assume the 360 is going to be the primary device for it? It's more a tool that allows it to get people used to the concept. It's not the spearhead that's going to keep DD going for the next 10 years.

More than likely M$'s next console will be the device that's going to be the major contributor to DDs (as well as PC obviously) and IPTV. 360's only going to be around for 2-3 more years, and likely will start being overshadowed by the next gen system in the next 1-2.

Is release a 5 gb hd, and release it with a crappy game or a really old game for $30-$40. Maybe shadowrun r something that's pretty cheap now.

Think of the boost everyone having a HD would have given XBL. WHAT FOOLZ

This article is stupid and obvious. Should I stay tuned for the sequel, "Microsoft made a good decision by including power cords in all xbox 360 bundles"?

Of course, that wouldn't get approved because it doesn't say anything bad about M$.

I have no idea why everybody suddenly decided to jump to Blu-Ray. There wasn't really a huge benefit for media playback(no... blu-ray did not have huge benefits. It had benefits, but HD-DVD had them too; to consumers and corporations). Had all the major film companies just supported both formats equally, I'm pretty sure HD-DVD would have come out on top in the long run.

Also, Blu-Ray didn't win yet. It beat HD-DVD, but it's not even close to DVD. With HVD/C and other formats no...

Anyone who played the first one should have expected a sequel. As mixed as the reviews were, one constant in almost all of them was the fact that a sequel would probably be amazing.

There were a few bugs/issues with the game, but this game is so close to being awesome with a few new features and tweaks it would have probably been AAA.

Better combat and more Assassinations than side missions would have made this game a knockout. Of course, the survey did say somet...

M$'s legal team makes their contracts and warantees pretty solid. Of course, in the case of a warantee, it doesn't even have to be that solid to make it not their fault.

They don't treat their customers like garbage. Do not mistake dealing with millions of customers efficiently with treating each individual like garbage. I've been treated MUCH worse by MANY companies with many fewer customers than I have by microsoft. It might not be the greatest service, but they're still helpful or at least try to help. Not too long ago, Sony had just as many failures on the PS2, and they wouldn't even extend their warrantee to the customers. Nobody yelled at them for it. ...

first: holy crap. that was longer than most articles on here. Not to sound condescending, you can do what you want, but your comments won't get read by 75% of any online community if you write that much. They might be great comments, but people are lazy. Fact of life.

second: @ "n short, they've barely begun to fight, and Microsoft needs to stop with their short-sightedness (ie, "HDMI isn't necessary; you'll never see 1080p games this generation; Core/Arcade users wil...

The kid never should have sent it in. It's a collectible, you don't send collectibles to get repaired under the warantee. That was just stupid on his part. Once it's a collectible, there's no going back.

Someone already said this, but it's likely that the repair center cleans all it's cases regardless of what is on them. It's probably policy, and the guy that did it probably wasn't doing it to be a d1ck. If you think that writing a letter to someone in India is actually going t...

Maybe a link to the actual benchmark instead of the project home site would be more helpful?

The SPEs in the cell aren't good general purpose cores btw. They're designed primarily around floating point ops.

Anyway, here's a pretty wicked in depth analysis of both the 360 and PS3 as a whole system hardware wise.

they actually didn't. Shipments of the 360 decreased by 22%. What you forget to take into account with that is that M$ overshipped the 360 by about 2 million units in 06. That means there were 2 million units reported as 2006 sales that were actually sold in 07.

as well as in other articles on n4g. Not the article. The article was good.

On the Cell vs. Power PC. Do you have a source for them? I'm guessing those benchmarks are in optimal conditions. Considering the amount of time programmers would have to put in to run a program under those conditions to take full advantage of the cell, it's unrealistic to think those benchmarks would mean anything in the next 2-3 years.

The relative ease of programming on the 360 has to ...

Why does everyone think the 360 is already pushing it's limits hardware wise? It's processor is incredibly powerful, it's just a different architecture than the cell. The only thing that really gives the PS3 any hardware advantage over the 360 is the required HD.

Far too many people take the complexity of the PS3 to mean it is more powerful. These concepts are not mutually exclusive. I haven't seen any game yet that's really gone so far that I couldn't see teh 360 being pushed...
