"mission packs" are probably what they call discrete tasks (ie: a mission is "go kill bob for me" a "mission pack" is a group of missions).
The Episodes will be a collection of Mission Packs.
Say, "Cousin Johnny comes to Liberty" and then you get a pile of Missions, models, and other material that supports this whole new story-line.

Exactly correct. After you've completed the game (as many many people do (myself included)) you'll be very eager to get some more story to play.

Gears of War 2 *IS* one of the most wanted titles of 2008. Epic *WILL* deliver (as they always do). And Gears of War 2 *WILL* be an exceptional game. I say that with as much confidence as any fan can say about *any* other title of 2008.
