The reason BluRay won was because Sony gave its MPAA partners many hundreds of millions to discontinue HD-DVD support.
No, Halo 3 was well regarded as one of the best games of the last many years.
It was rewarded with many many Game of the Year Awards.
It sold millions of copies, and was one of the greatest entertainment events in the history of the planet.
So, yeah. Halo is one of the best rated series in the history of vidoegames (better than MGS for instance..). So, comparing the knock off B-level "Haze" is really kind of silly.
' While Gears 4x4 battles were laggy as hell. "
ha, you might like to actually play the games you want to lie about first. Gears of War online is *terrific*, played and loved by millions. Lag? not a fcuking chance -- its always been terrific for me and those I play with.
Nice try, go back to trolling in the open zone.
It would be worth noting that Gears of War is from a well-respected studio, and Gears of War was one of the most acclaimed games of the year it was released.
Resistence and KZ2 -- not so much. KZ1 was mediocre, and the developer has burned through $60M and pushed back the title so many times it is becoming known as the new Duke Nukem Forever.
And, Resistence 1 was "okay", but not in the league of Gears of War in any regard.
The fall can'...
After $60M and 5 years, maybe they could start to show in-game footage instead of the pre-rendered cut-scenes?
Killzone 2 is the new Duke Nukem Forever. Even more delayed than Spore, wow.
Today, you learn "almost 12M"
And, we know Xbox 360 was " passed 19 million globally".

See, that is **MORE** than 7 Million. You have a problem with elementary math. There is no ...
@5.2
**NEARLY** 12 Million.
All this doesnt matter, the fact is that the Xbox 360 is already a years sales ahead because of the PS3 delay at launch.
Reality check people. The PS3 has only barely outsold the Xbox 360 for some periods so far in 2008.
And, the Xbox 360 is *9 MILLION* units ahead.
Silellak says "its obvious the PS3 will overtake the Xbox 360" -- yeah, if everything remains the same **AND** the generation is 20 years long.
Have a look at this graph (from vgchartz for lack of a better source -- after all, they've got PS3 @ 12.18 Million and Xbox 360 @ 18.x; meanwhile Sony ...
"these two giants share..."
Uhm, Killzone 1 was mediocre. Resistence was good, but not exactly "giant".
Take the hyperbole elsewhere shill.
And, how about they actually show some in-game footage instead of the pre-rendered cut-scene bullshots. After burning $60M and about 5 years, they better put up or shut up.
Halo 3 and GTAIV are some of the best reviewed, and most acclaimed games of the last year.
Please, its pretty clear that Haze isnt of that caliber. I get your point, but Haze isnt going to be anything near the quality of those two titles.
@19.1
You mean they are trying to copy Halo? Yes, that is very clear. But the physics and AI have been shown to suck pretty badly.
Dont run off about how good KZ2 looks. There is nothing we've seen there that hasnt been seen in other demos and upcoming titles. Sure, it looks good, but get realistic.
After all, it better look good, it cost $60M to make. And, it only validates the complaints developers have had with trying to make use of the Cell's DSP cores. A lot of effort to get equal results.
Not exactly vote of confidence for the future I'm afraid.
And, after all the de...
Well, it seems that the PS3 camp took quite a delight trolling about Halo 3's resolution choices.
Frankly, I didnt care. It was Game of the Year from many places, and it was well deserved by all accounts.
What this will hopefully teach them, is that trolling about resolutions was pretty stupid.
In the end, Halo 3 is a terrific game.
Now, the question will be, how much *fun* will Haze be... by the looks of it (based on the physics an...
It doesnt really matter, Haze looks like its going to be pretty mediocre anyway.
The physics and AI (based on the videos) have been pretty bad.
We still dont know what the Peter Jackson project is. Perhaps its an original series.
There are at least two other productions underway, one from the winner of the NYCTV Festival and the other from James Gunn (Dawn of the Dead, Slither).
Maybe they're using the Warthog in the production of a Xbox LIVE Series?
Here ya go; http://www.hiptop.com
"Right now, I can buy a 120GB hard drive to drop in a PlayStation 3 for $69.99 from NewEgg.com ****[Update: I’d previously listed this as $44.99 with an incompatible drive].****"
Second, iSuppli said it costs $100 for MS to product;
"drives are then delivered to Microsoft. iSuppli believes the markup on the drives could be as much as $20, making the drives $100 a pop for Microsoft"
And, the drives are then shipped and marked-up ...
Wow, it looks like someone decided to clone the HipTop

It seems odd that they'd do a "region by region" roll-out for Killzone 2, which is reported to be a $60M Budget game.
Usually such big-budget games does a world-wide roll out. I'd bet this is another delay for Killzone 2.
Killzone 2 is the new DNF.
BluRay is stillborn. No one cares about plastic discs.
The next (and current?) method of media distribution is via the internet.
Digital Distribution for the win.
Didnt anyone tell you? you can get (at least) Vongo, CinemaNow and Netflix as Digital Distribution movies on the Xbox 360 right now.
no one cares about $45 movie discs.
