It may not be the 3DS lite exactly, but there will be a redesign that puts the current design to shame. Sleeker casing that is one solid color, better quality cameras. They may even do something drastic and use a sliding design rather than the same design they've used since the DSlite.
I'm waiting until Holiday 2012 to buy mine. By then the 3DS lite should be out and there will be a decent backlog of games to play.

Market the crap out of the fact that it has dual analog sticks and Call of Duty. That will be enough to win over a lot of gamers.

I think you have Sony confused with Microsoft. Microsoft, who payed 50 million dollars to get timed exclusive DLC for GTA IV.
I'll consider picking up a 3DS lite when they unveil it but still not sure.

Can't really complain about a price drop, but this is really bad timing IMO.
For one its only been out for a few months. Two, for a lot of people I don't think the price of the system was the problem, it was the fact that there are literally one or two games worth playing right now. Three, it will probably see a decent boost in sales, but at the wrong time. They should have dropped it like a month before the Vita launches/right before the holidays.
In the short term, it would be better on their part to wait because it would probably give them a boost in PS3 sales, but longterm, they would be fighting for second place again next-gen if they waited. Both Nintendo and Microsoft would have a price advantage over them once again.
PS4 will happen sooner rather than later. Guarantee it.
