They know they need to have a price advantage over Sony so I think they will try to keep the price around $399.

I've been rockin the 80gb fat model for a few years now but its almost time for a change. I'll move that one out to the living room and use it for netflix and blu-rays.
4GBs of RAM is pretty wishful thinking.
I think it would be a good move on Sony or Microsoft's part if they did use that much but I expect 2GBs at the most.
I never expected a huge leap forward in raw power. They are not going to come out and announce another $600 console.
Microsoft is catering to the casual audience lately and more than anything I think they will want to be profitable right out of the gate with their next generation console. The Wii U is probably going to be right on par with current gen systems.

I'm sure they've been developing the PS4 for several years now, but last month was the first clear indicator that its closer than most people think it is.
Everything they say about the PS3s future right now should be taken with a grain of salt. Remember when Reggie said they needed to sell 15 million more Wiis before even talking about the successor? Then went on to announce it a few months later at E3.
They've been backpedaling on a potential PS4 announcement ever since it was confirmed last month that development is well underway.
I'm sticking by my prediction that there is no way we get out or 20...

I agree, early 2014 is the latest we'll see them IMO.
I'll say early 2013 for the successor to the 360 and holiday 2013 for the PS4.
