Pulling a trigger in your own head is different than pulling it on others. Keep in mind Snake was not a mindless soldier taught to kill or be killed just like that, no he was deeper, had emotions and feelings. For some one who has been fighting a long time without having to gain something meaningful will surely be emotionally broken inside, so its no surprise that he will shiver at the thought of pulling a trigger on himself.
Those 2 series were amazing in every aspect. My only wish is to see Soul Reaver get another sequel or maybe perhaps get updated, and also to see Dino Crisis' definite sequel after the 2nd one to complete the story (or a remake). Dino-Crisis 3 was rather rubbish, and might I add Capcom's first betrayal to Sony when they didn't release the game on Playstation system where it had its origins and success in the first place.
truth-pill is even harder to swallow for a 360 fanboy who can't face the facts that PS3 has some games that beat 360 by a long shot. Don't take it too hard, you should have seen the way 360 boys were rubbing in faces of PS3 boys about every friggin' thing that was released on 360, during the days when PS3 was still young.
one can always hook up the controller to a PC USB port. If battery is running low and PS3 is off, I usually just hook it up to my PC that is usually running.
It's going to take some time for things to get going, and with time everything "will" be supported by every game, unless of course those developers have a grudge against the PS3. But really, I have to admit, PSN is free and the only price Sony is asking is to be patient. But then again, as a consumer, I do feel disappointed. I just hope those patches are released prior to when the study period begins since I find it frustrating that everything good comes out when I am busy with stud...
More than anything, custom soundtracks was the only feature I was looking forward to. Alas, it's still not there, and we have to wait for developers to release patches further down the road, so sort of pointless as of now, as well as Trophies. Not everyone has Stardust or Pixel junkie to test out the features. I still don't understand why Sony left it to the developers and didn't just implement an override feature for the music, regardless of whether the game supports it or not. Sort of like ...
I hope something happens to those low-life thugs, so they learn their just lesson for stealing that boys beloved belonging.
but I agree with one thing Boon has said, that Street Fighter feels like its going to be the same gameplay-wise. Personally I don't like SF or Tekken games very much, their fighting-techs feel too limited or static for lack of better word. Mortal Kombat has always brought some substance and some level of excitement to fighting genre with their violent finishing moves and somewhat mystical nature of the story which is a huge attraction point for me. Of all SF and Tekken game that I have played...
this is not the Alone in the Dark I was expecting, it isn't scary at all. I mean when they first said that their inspiration was movies/shows like Lost, 24 and Die Hard, already I knew AITD wasn't going to be the same. Who the hell takes inspirations for a Horror game from action/adventure movies? But in itself the game is very good, a definite 7.0.
they had to go with Catwoman. Sorry, but I just don't like her.
In past few weeks, almost all their articles have been about Sony and PS3 games, mostly the negatives aspects. They are such whiners, always whining about Sony this and that. I would suggest to them if they are true journalist, they should look at the crap that M$ also churns out now & then, not be 360's watchdogs.
Always with the criticisms MGS-4 is this and that. Get over it, if you think its too long then stay the hell away from it.
The game deserves a score of 7 at the very least. The graphics and sound should alone score it around 5 or 6. Though the music doesn't suits the Alone in the Dark atmosphere, but in itself its very nicely composed. The game was very ambitious as developers themselves admitted, some nice ideas there which surely deserve some recognition and applause, even if not perfect. Alone in the Dark has always been about taking chances, I guess, experimenting with new ideas. Nice game though.
The game makes it obvious that it's developed by Americans. They borrowed that initial sequence from Jacob's Ladder, okay nice touch. But what's with those nurses walking in an awkward manner like in the movie? That to me was completely ludicrous. They should have stuck with the way they moved in the old games.
Also, I seriously prefer the transition of worlds by means of "Black-Out" rather than the peeling away of layers. That fade in and out gave an other-worldly fee...
I have played NG and GOW, but I find myself enjoying GOW more since it seems more user-friendly to me. I mean executing different combos in GOW is easy and the learning curve is quiet fast. Also, I like mini-game aspect that GOW series introduced within fighting mechanics (which seems to have become a trend nowadays, as an inspiration I guess), and personally I found GOW finishers to be much more violent than NG. Overall, not to sound like a fanboy, GOW seems more appealing to me, but everyon...
but game-play hardly makes a game supreme. GOW kicks it's butt in all the other aspects, even to some extent DMC is better than NG series in story and basic overall feel. But I wouldn't trust anything from this website which is bitter against the PS3.
And yes the proof of Edge being bitter about PS3 or PS for that matter is the very fact that they are comparing a new game to an old gen game. But still that is not say that GOW mechanics suck, they're pretty much better than that ...
Atari better make some improvements in sight of these average reviews, and also because this game-series happens to be my most favorite of all.
Frankly I agree with them about almost everything. But unlike IGN, I applaud them for at least being fair when it comes to visuals.
I think the author left out another option...both could be lying. It's business, so it shouldn't be surprising for us to realize that either side could possibly stretch the truth. But in any case, I wouldn't be the judge since there's no proof to side by either business giants.
it is not like his "Opinion" can make any real difference. Hideo probably could say the same thing, that he would never do any generic shooters.
though MGS-4 will complete for me if they add the Theatre mode, something like MGS-3 where we could watch the whole game being played by the computer along with cutscenes, it really gave the impression that the whole thing was a CGI movie.
