Resistance's cutscenes and KZ2's opening were using the games engine, but used high-poly models and other forms of smoke and mirrors to get it to look better. Using high poly character models for cutscenes is nothing new, but when you start playing it won't look that great. (Check Resistance 2's cutscenes versus gameplay, or KZ2's opening scene versus gameplay) Same situation. Of course things will look sharper several years later (Check Half-Life 2 versus Portal or Left 4 Dead 2), this is the first truly HD Halo. Good results, but it's not close to KZ2's engine. Maybe if they showed some gameplay we could better compare, but from what I saw: not much going on in the levels and incredibly flat ground texture. The lighting looks great tho and they got better mo-cap actors.
Gran Turismo 5 PROLOGUE looks better than Forza 3. And all I saw tonight was some BS "ingame, but not in-engine" footage of the same halo engine, that was supposed to blow me away. If it wants to rival KZ2, they have a LOT of work still ahead of them.

Less out of place celebrities (Cause I totally bought Kim Kardashian even knows what a video game controller looks like, hell Busta Rhymes struggled to say "in engine") No stupid ass musical guests (All american rejects AND 50 cent!? No WAY! Just what I wanted to hear! /s) No promos for lame ass movies (Paul Blart?) and never again have a 2 minute montage of who won.
They have a better FPS if MW2 has upset you so, it's called Killzone 2. MW2 being broken just makes their exclusive look better, why WOULD they do anything to fix it, it just hurts Activision/IW in the long run... But yeah this is totally SONY's fault that MW2 is a broken, unbalanced, glitchy mess. That wasn't working properly on the PS3/PC to begin with, and isn't selling as well.
Halo 3 was a disappointment (go ahead disagree with my opinion, Bungie still squeezed money out of my pockets so I have every right to complain). I didn't go out and buy ODST because of it, still haven't, that game was also hyped up beyond what it could actually deliver. My friend was playing it and he was using the sniper and he was trying to just aim with the joysticks. I told him to use the sixaxis, He didn't say it out loud but I could see him thinking "OMFG!" just from his facial expression. I've seen that "OMFG" face more from people playing KZ2 than any other game this gen.
GOW is just an overall better game because it offers a better experience.
When I kept hearing it was better than DMC, NG, and GOW I was expecting hollywood level set-peices , a narrative with truly epic characters, a damn good soundtrack, and a fighting game style of a battle system. Seeing as how there isn't a sliver of professionalism in video game journalism nowadays, it's all politcal slant and bias childish opinionated soap boxing. And anyone giving AC2 anything below a 6 should just accept he was wrong and rightfully accept the hate he receives. If you didn't like it that's fine and dandy (but that's not your job to be like "I don't like this game... 4!"), but you're supposed to be telling us if the game is a good game or not, which AC2 is a great game.
GOW3 older build is old. Nice try, but even the "not quite old, but still old" build looks lightyears better. Jaylen's picture above his name is a good indication of what GOW3 calls "old tech".
edit: To the phantom disagree, you are free to prove me wrong, but the E3 demo DOES EXIST, and what HHG and N'Gai saw was even more polished than that supposedly.
