I'm pretty sure that the technology today offers more power and speed with same if not less price than it did when PS3 was in development. If they launch at $400 price point, it will most probably still be a lot more powerful than PS3. Also you should consider the fact that Cell and Blu-ray were very new technologies in PS3 and were probably the 2 things most responsible for the launch price and have gotten much cheaper since then.
@DK286K: PS2 wasn't obsolete back then, it still got lot's of games coming even a couple years after PS3s launch and was a great choice for someone with a tight budget. On the other hand, Xbox was obsolete since games pretty much just stopped coming for it.
Someone hasn't played MGS3 if he really thinks the WHOLE game is in a forest.
They didn't always say they would make hybrid games, first of "Natal" we saw at E3 a couple years back, they we're almost saying that we can throw our controllers to the garbage bin. But hey, that's the same as any other promoting and hyping for new stuff.
Day 1 purchase and Platinum from both for me!
I have a huge backlog to play as well, since I've had my PS3 for only 6 months now. But to be honest I think that "probably" = 99% in this case.
Smartphones are not killing handheld gaming at all. You can't have complex games on a smartphone that has only touchscreen and a few buttons that can't be used for games due to their inconvenient placement. The experience is not even comparable. Because of that it doesn't matter how good smartphone games look, the gaming experience will never be as full and enjoyable on phones than real handheld consoles.
It uses both the controller AND Kinect.
Agreed.
I've made my decision and I want Vita (no-brainer for me) but people have different tastes and Vita just isn't for everybody. I think it's pretty pointless saying that someone should buy this or that. One should rather provide people with facts that would help differentiate between the two and make the decision themselves based on that, even if somebody asks you straight which one to get.
Definitely checking this out at some point. And the other collection too.
It's all a matter of personal preference and your points are as valid as anybody else's. And in the end, what does it even matter? Both of these games are no-brainers for any core gamer.
Yes, that and also the ones which are just Cena touting that he's doing it for the Universe and the girls and little boys love him and that's why it doesn't matter if he can't wrestle. Well, he's not saying that but that's what's between the lines, and more importantly, that's the truth. I almost hope he gets injured so we wouldn't have to put up with that crap for at least a few months.
Sorry, my bad. NowGamer and youtube had me thinking this trailer is new and missed this from E3.. I'll investigate more next time.
I think this is the only good way to implement Kinect into complex core games.
He's supposed to wrestle John Cena in WM28. After hosting WM27 all we've seen of him on tv is a part of this hilarious promo shooting at Cena, which btw wipes the floor with Cena's hypocritical, nice-guy-perfect-human-being promos.
A walkthough.. For a demo.. Are you serious?! If you can't complete a demo, then quit gaming.
Here's a few reasons why you're wrong: They're targeting mostly at 2 completely different audiences. And saying that hardcore players won't buy Vita is just wrong. Vita is clearly tempting the hardcore gamers because of the games it will have and the first ever on a handheld: dual analog sticks, not to mention the graphics. 250$ isn't a bad price at all for that tech, which btw wipes the floor with 3DS tech IMO. Vita seems to have a better and bigger software library alrea...
What a noob that was playing during those screenshots, he's on alert mode!
Jokes aside, looks good to me, I'll probably get this on day one.
Looking great, first I've heard of this though. Nice to see some new action adventure games on the horizon.
I certainly hope not. I want to be able to afford a second controller and have the exactly same experience on it as the original one. Also I don't see this enhancing my gaming experience, I have no problems whatsoever navigating menus with a controller and I and the other things this can be used for don't justify going this way either. And besides, technically most of the stuff you can do on this, you can do on Vita + PS3 combo too.
