Yea, I didn't hate it, but didn't really enjoy it either. If the AI in the game was better, or could have been a bit more fun. The Aliens in the game were just horrendous. As well was the other enemy soldiers. At one point in the very first mission I was killed by grenades probably 10 times behind cover ha. So, once I got past that I was a bit happier haha.
I've had a great experience so far with running my site. You can't go in to the job thinking you'll never become as big as IGN and if that's what your goal is, then you should probably rethink why your doing games journalism.
We've given games low scores and not been blacklisted, and for the most part most PR are pretty nice to work with. It's not even EA's PR department that gives you trouble really, it's more 47 Comm. They're just crappy ...
That's the point really. Colonial Marines kinda tarnished the license in a lot of people's eyes. Check the comment thread on any article talking about this game and Colonial Marines pops up. It sucks really.
It should be a big deal...unless you don't care about the quality of the writing you read. Shows a lack of professionalism for the website and that's never a good thing.
This site and Dualshockers have the same bad reporting techniques. They might as well be the PR for the freakin companies. All they do is feed off their Twitter feeds. Creates extra attention for something and making claims before even reporting on actual details.

This whole thing is weird. Reporting on stuff like this seriously bugs the heck out of me. It'd be freakin great if game companies would just start being truthful about this stuff rather than having people dig and dig for info, reporters and regular gamers alike.
Well, it kinda does matter if you care about specifics. But as you said buy the games you want to experience. I picked up a certain console for certain games, didn't really pay attention to hardware stuff. As a reporter though, people care about this and it affects their buying decisions. Don't shoot the messenger :)
Yea, the guy was like yelling at us over Twitter saying we were lying and had no right to use his name for the story. Once something goes on Twitter you give up that right and the fact he called us liars was kinda funny considering the Tweet was there plain as day. He later messaged back saying he was sorry and misread the Tweet. Very ominous situation and the fact that he deleted the Tweet is also..idk. Hard to say if he screwed up or what.
Personally I think it's just based on the game. I mean if you have to upscale to 1080p, it'd look better at non scaled so things don't look so stretched out etc. 1080p is better no doubt, but if it affects the quality and performance of the game, I wouldn't bother.
We've done a couple interviews with them now and the game has only sounded better and better. The games being developed by 3 full time guys and some part time outsourcerd. Its insane what their doing.
This is really becoming my most anticipated game of this year. I love survival horror and I'm personally afraid of caves. My friends in my dorm are going to love watching me play this. Can't wait!

You can't use a controller for some of the games yet. You should probably read first - " the only restriction is whether the developer takes advantage of the controller as anyone can submit a game to the site." Plus the sites were just created, it's not going to be perfect right out the bat.
It was a PC game first so why would it be questionable?

Yea, unless your a competitionist player I can't push myself to go through all the fodder content. I normally play the game for the main storyline, do some exploration and then come back to the game every once in a while if I have nothing to play. Pretty much the way I play all open-world games.
I've been waiting for a game like this since I started gaming. I tried Mount and Blade but didn't really enjoy it all that much. I had the same reaction lol.

Even if it is using those assets, lots of game developers share assets. Not a big deal in my opinion as long as they're credited for it.
This project is super old, most likely vaporware by now. Just like Project Venerance, there hasn't been updates in a long time.
