Ah I see. They're just saying games like Ratchet don't transfer so well when condensed to smaller $15 episodes (think MGS4 spin-off at $15) With that said, though, it's still a decent buy at $15.
Yeah, they shouldn't have changed directors.
It's in-game. Check out the video. It says real-time 3D on PS3.

I'm glad they're not being rushed and I can 't wait for some concept art.
I'll go back and collect trophies for good games (Uncharted, SSHD). Forget buying crappy games for easy trophies.
It was a target render, many devs use them to show the look and feel of what they're trying to achieve. Is there a link to a Guerilla developer stating that the trailer was real-time running off of the PS3 that I'm missing?
Batman Begins was terrific for a movie game (who remembers driving the Batmobile/Tank) and so was Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and Spiderman 2. The reason most movie games suck is if they're rushed to release the same day as the movie itself.
I guess I feel a little fortunate for getting the original 60gb model. But I remember Jack Tretton saying last year that their price cuts continue to increase the value of the PS3. Doesn't seem to be the case now, stripping a feature that all PlayStations have inherited up until now. Deserves a facepalm.
He doesn't think their decision to go multiplat was because of the size of the PS3's installbase. He says games last gen sold high numbers even with a lower installbase.
"If you look at the sales for Metal Gear Solid 2 (5.56 million) vs. Metal Gear Solid 3 (3.99 million), it is crystal clear that the install base, and not to mention, substantially bigger install base, of the PS2 had no affect on the sales of MGS 3."
"In other words, the number of c...
"To begin with, let's verify that Killzone 2's going to support online matches for two to 32 players and, according to Boltjes, look as good as the single-player campaign."
It'll have a progressive story, trophy support, and I think 50 pre-made levels, so there will be a bunch of stuff to do besides creating levels.
Sweet!
I think Resistance and Gears have a score to settle. :)
I think it's time for people to start giving Guerilla a little bit of credit now. The work they've done to address the media's expectations throughout all of this hype is certainly paying off, as it seems. It was first the graphics matching the trailer, then gameplay, then multiplayer. As I see it, they've earned at least a little bit of optimism.
"The Crystal Tools reportedly uses four of the six developer-available synergistic processing elements (SPEs) of the Cell Broadband Engine Architecture microprocessor to achieve near-pre-rendered CGI quality in realtime."
I'll admit that I'm not a big RPG fan, so I was mostly excited for XIII's technical achievments and graphics. I believe they've made compromises to this engine to suit multiplatform development, which is realistic, I guess, considering the cost of ga...
"Nomura has commented that the engine will be able "to recreate battle scenes reminiscent of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children."[3] It also handles advanced audio processing, cinematic cut-scene transition, physics effects calculations and special effects rendering.[citation needed] The engine reportedly uses four of the six synergistic processing elements that are available to games running on the Cell processor, to achieve near-pre-rendered CGI quality in realtime." <...
I'm speechless. This is big! Will the quality still be the same or will there be a middle ground? I want some more NEWS! This is a big gain for 360 owners. It's like the equivalent of losing Halo or Mario. Will Sony have a counter tomorrow that mathces the scale of this announcment!? Doubtful, they really dropped the ball on this one.
WTF is going on!?
Yeah, they must've toned it down!
Watch how it just gushes out...@2:30
