A refreshing take at the game. I agree that with MGS4, Kojima has placed cut-scenes at the forefront and relegated gameplay to the backseat, and this is certainly not the direction I'd like the rest of the gaming industry to go in. If you start focusing on the movie aspects more than the gaming aspects, then be prepared to be judged as a cinematic experience rather than as a game. And judged in that context, only the purest bred fanboys will disagree that the cinematics in MGS4, while prob...
I tend to think this is an idiot review.
Fanboism abound in the write up. Best graphics ever? No way. Praise for extraordinarily long cut scenes? Whatever, I thought we play games here. Deep online play? Get out of here!
No surprise there. Motorstorm was never much of a looker.
I own both consoles, so I'd say the ones that 360 owners should envy PS3 owners for having are only MGS4 and FFXIII, and maybe Uncharted. 360 owners have an abundance of better shooters and driving games so the other games listed do not matter.
The converse list will be:-
1. Fable 2
2. Too Human
3. Gears of War 1 & 2
4. Halo 3
5. Forza 2
6. DOA4
7. Ninja Gaiden 2
8. Mass Effect
9. Dead Rising
10. PGR 3 &...
Exactly true. I had no console bias coming into console gaming only this gen. I have all 3 consoles and 360 is far and away the best gaming console but I have no reason to detest PS3 since it has its merits just as the Wii does. Yet the annoyingly childish attitudes of PS3 fans just made me develop a reflex aversion to all things Sony.
Played the game last night. The game's an absolute blast! I never played the original except for the Sigma port to PS3, and comparing Sigma to what I've played so far, I must say NG2 is tons flashier and draws you deeper into the battle. I would agree with Gamespot though on the observation that the backgrounds are disappointing. Camera angles could be better, but it hasn't been a real problem. Comparing this to like games such as Heavenly Sword and DMC4, this game is defintely way, way ...
No PMR. A flop is a game exclusive to PS3.
PS3 finally gets a single AAA exclusive and the haters suddenly declare anything less than a 9 is a flop, forgetting all those other real major exclusive flops from Sony.
Snukadaman, you have just unveiled the fact that Nasim doesn't own a PS3 and is just talking out of his a$$ as usual.
That's right, people are always waiting for something or other when it comes to the PS3.
If there's anything that's good about Grid, it is the graphics, which I agree are better than GT5. However, I entirely disagree that it is a good driving game. As a simulator, it is miles behind Forza. As an arcade, it is miles behind PGR.
Listen to the Nasim logic. And laugh.
Easy. Sony paid Guardian.
If Haze is the best FPS, that means Resistance was...?
Again people try to dismiss a very fundamental problem with PS3 by citing their own alleged personal opinions and alleged preferences of games (which are of course highly suspect given the highly defensive tone of the comments). The problem is that PS3 is not suited for game development - as evidenced by the lack of games, glitchier games, games that take forever to develop, games that require HDD installs. I'm sure Koei would have loved to bring this game to PS3 but they decided it is not ...
Absolutely stunning. Has the perfect fantasy feel and art direction.
Looks to be more functional than Sixaxis, but I suppose that's not saying much.
Looks like its nycredude who needs to do some research, or even just think, before spilling crap out of his mouth.
As a game, it is not the best ever. But the overall package is fine.
