Hmm, I'm beginning to see an explanation for Sony lowering their profits projection. There must have been quite big figures involved in all those cheques they've written out to reviewers.
Even their 2nd attempt cannot outdo Halo's first on the next gen consoles.
Without taking anything away from this game, I must say I'm not sure about how many decent user-created levels will show up. I've tried my hand at creating levels and it is not easy at all to come up with something interesting. And it takes way too much time as well.
IMO Bioshock was a lot more successful in creating suspense and tension than Deadspace. There were so many scenarios in Bioshock where I just froze, not knowing what to expect or do, for example when the lights just went off with screams and laughter surrounding you or seeing the shadow of a crazed splicer up ahead. I roamed around the narrow spacecraft confines of Deadspace in eager anticipation of such moments, but they never really came out quite as dramatically as in Bioshock. Deadspac...
Mario Galaxy got GOTY last year and it appears that LBP will get GOTY this year - albeit that one game was 3D and the other is 2D, nonetheless there's enough similarities in these 2 great games to suggest that casual gaming is indeed the trend for the industry now.

If a console is limited by the IQ of its fanbase, then judging by the posts above you, I'm afraid to say the PS3 is hopelessly limited.

I'm actually enjoying Tales of Vesperia more than Eternal Sonata. The characters in TOV are a lot more likeable.
Do you even know anything about this game? The graphics, while they look nice, are not in any way technically demanding. This game is certainly not proof of what you're trying to suggest.

C'mon, NBA 09 The Inside The PS3 Exclusive is complete and utter floppage by any standard. Lay praise on LBP if you must, but don't encourage such garbage being made.
If this game was done on the PS3, it would have gotten a 10 just like LBP.
