I hope the quest to achieve Sony's target renders will not be the downfall of this game, but it looks like it might be a possibilty. Poor framerates for a FPS will be crippling.
Wake up. It is not just any month. It is the holiday month. The month that all companies move out their big guns to capture the biggest sales surge for the year. The month that matters.
Objectively...
2008 had MGS4, the next instalment to a highly celebrated series (but I must say I didn't enjoy it at all). 2009 has Killzone 2, the sequel to a big disappointment.
2008 had LBP, the biggest new innovative IP and hailed as a genre defining game. 2009 has Heavy Rain which is already receiving criticisms for QTS.
2008 had Resistance 2, much hyped sequel to PS3's best launch title. 2009 has Uncharted 2, the sequel to PS3's best action game i...
Why justify the PS3's performance with its price point? A higher price CAN be justified IF the console performs better, but that hasn't been the case. The high initial price point was because of blu-ray, but blu-ray hasn't proven its worth for gaming purposes (whether using PS3 to sell blu-ray has been a success is another debatable issue). So there is no basis for condoning the initial price point and for that reason the price point is no excuse for PS3's disappointing performance particu...
Rationally, you should say yes there is cause for concern over PS3 and Sony ought to seriously rethink their strategy to compensate for their past mistakes. Say that instead of repeating the next year mantra.
And Sony's 2009 lineup is not more impressive than 2008.
You know how that sounds, don't you?
Funny you should suggest looking at reality 'cos you don't seem to practice what you preach. The reality of woeful holiday sales, economic crisis cutbacks, big games that don't sell - what do you make of that reality? An impending suicidal price cut to allow the blood to flow faster?
Home, killer of Live, in 2015.
You're a funny guy. Sony has already made so many mistakes with blu-ray, price point, game development, third party exclusives, marketing etc and those mistakes are now statistically proven and you're still in denial. I'm sure if you're a Sony executive looking at the November sales figures, you'd be thinking long and hard about where Sony has gone so horribly wrong instead of consoling yourself with how well Sony has done with PS2 'cos its your frigging job on the line.
Lol! Now KZ2 is the bigger game than MGS4... Is it bigger than LBP and Final Fantasy XIII, oh sorry I mean FF Versus since XIII has gone multiplatform...? You guys are a good laugh and a half.
Why should anyone take what Nasim has to say seriously?
You obviously haven't downloaded Home or you'd have seen a message describing Home as a game.
Really? You weren't one of those who said Tekken was no. 1 fighter, how Tekken Dark Resurrection was the best can't wait for Tekken 6, after PS3 got the gimped version of Virtua Fighter?
Explored a little more of Home. If they can smoothen out the numerous bugs, there's some promise in Home. And for all those who are gonna say I don't have a PS3, the download size of Uncharted (TM) Sully's Bar is 27.8mb.
Seems like we shouldn't be expecting much from Home Beta.
First I notice that they call it a "game" rather than an interface, then I see that it requires 3177MB harddisk space reserved, then I see long load times, then I can't log in twice, and then I manage to log in on the 3rd try but I can't get a preset character to load until after 2 minutes, and then each customization selection also takes a long time to load up...
And now I read about it being a hack...
What did you see...? What did he do...?
Man you guys say the cooliest things, is it because you support Sony?
I too bought both titles for my PS3. Sold R2 soon after but I'm still keeping LBP for my occasional casual moments.
Thank you those who did not read more into my comment than was said.
Ultimolu, I CANNOT BELIEVE you actually said what has PS3 to do with this...
Did Microsoft not lower their expectations for their gaming division's performance for 2009 in light of the economic situation? What did the PS3 fanboys say to that...? And now it is blasphemous to suggest the obvious that Sony's gaming division will similarly be affected? Some of you guys have absolutely no grip on econ...
Get real. Of course PS3 will be affected. They're not going to cut the price of PS3 anytime soon for a start.
I can understand if the Japanese can't quite get their ratings right for Western games, but when the Japanese rate a JRPG badly...
