I thought I was the only one this happened to. It's pretty ridiculous. I realized that if I remain signed out of my profile, I can actually play the game. The second I try to sign in no matter where I am in the game, it freezes.
I don't care where they got the idea; it's a good one.
Graphics and lighting look incredible, almost Killzone-esque. Gameplay looks solid, if not a little routine. Should be a fun time.
Gotta love these early reviews.
If only they can work interactive set pieces, like the train and collapsing building, into the competitive multiplayer...
He's definitely not criticizing any game in particular, but rather the genre as a whole. As usual, the headline is intentionally misleading so it can attract hits and create flamewars. Speaking of flamewars, I'll just say that Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden Black/Sigma, and the original God of War are currently the best the genre has to offer. Throw DMC 3 in there too.
Outdated, unfounded, and utterly pointless article. You can't have a great story and incredible graphics at the same time? Apparently this townie hasn't played Bioshock, the Metal Gear Solid series, the Uncharted games, or even some of the Final Fantasy games. All this about a two year old game? What next- is he gonna complain about the mandatory install for Devil May Cry 4 on the PS3?
IO interactive made more mediocre Hitman games, but not a sequel to their true masterpiece. It's a shame.
He's absolutely right about some things, like the under-powered medic, but that's getting patched. No medic indicator on the map is downright stupid though. I can't stand watching a bunch of identical green dots moving around on my map, hoping that one is a medic coming to revive me, only to have them run right past me.
He said the game "ran silky smooth", so does that mean it is 60 FPS? Or just a really stable and reliable 30 FPS?
This game should get a demo. If it's got the chops to play in the same league as CoD and Battlefield, THQ should be putting it out there prove it to everyone.
That screenshot looks like the hidden levels in Super Mario Sunshine (which were some of the best parts of the game, btw)
They should hurry up and show off the multiplayer. It's what Battlefield does best. EA and DICE would garner a lot more attention for this game if they showed the good stuff early instead of a single player video that looks like what a lot of other games have already done.
Cool. I always wondered about that haha
The secret to how Cole showers if he's allergic to water?
Yeah, a game built for close quarters combat can easily become too chaotic if the player count isn't just right. Spawning rules and max number of players will probably change with game mode though.
I just ran a Google search. According to the game's producer, the PC player count is still being finalized, but it's believed to be more than the consoles.
The game's single player campaign looks great, so an exciting and engrossing multiplayer mode that could keep anyone interested for 60 hours or so would be the icing on the cake.
I admit COD is stagnant at the moment, but I'm hoping that Sledgehammer can help Infinity Ward pump some life into the series. If they are able to, then gamers can look forward to two great shooters later this year.
No need to apologize. I don't know who you are anyway.
