Forget about R2! R3 is miles ahead of it. Really, the improvement between the two games is amazing, especially with regard to the campaign.
The Uncharted series is a stellar technical achievement and a fun collection of games, but it has hardly defined this generation. How many games are trying to be Uncharted? Now look at all the games copying Call of Duty. There's this generation defined, whether we like it or not.
Metal Gear Solid and Deus Ex:Human Revolution are perfect for a crossover. They are so similar, both thematically and in terms of gameplay, that a crossover would make perfect sense...And be a dream to play.
Nintendo paved the way, shaped history, blah blah blah... So did the British Empire, Nazi Germany, and Imperial Japan. Where are they now, I wonder?
Yeah, you're right. I forgot all about the handhelds. But hopefully the Vita will deliver on its potential and rejuvenate an admittedly stagnant market.
I wonder if he's got any predictions about the sun rising tomorrow.
I really wish they would go software only, like Sega. Except they'd have some great games.
I'm ashamed to say it, but it's been two years and I still haven't fully gotten over Jim Sterling giving Assassin's Creed II a 4.5 out of 10 ha ha.
Fanboys can bicker like stupid children all they want, but nothing can change the fact that both MW3 and Battlefield 3 are going to be spectacular.
I think the Vita will do well with hardcore gamers. For me and countless others, the ability for a handheld device to deliver a console-caliber experience is a dream com true. In that regard, the Vita is already a huge success.
I'm playing through both right now, and I really think the first game was a better fusion of RPG elements, action, and tight story-telling. I even like the stuff that many seem to dislike, including micro-managing my inventory and driving the Mako.
In my opinion, the only real knock against the first game are technical issues like texture pop-in and frame rate drops during intense combat. I wish Bioware had stuck with this formula and simply refined it for the sequel rat...
Brink had a writer?
I like the list, but I would have added the remake of Resident Evil for Gamecube
I would gladly take an HD update for Resident Evil 4. I'd love if it included real-time weapon switching via the D-Pad like Resident Evil 5 (but still used the attache case inventory system).
Single player is a CoD carbon copy. Play it and you'll see. Multi feels like a mix between CoD and Battlefield. Either way, this game was designed as a quick cash-in. But that's just business, right?
Homefront is not just any new IP. It is first and foremost a Call of Duty clone. It's a fun clone, but a clone nonetheless. If it fails, the only thing that could be said is that developers ought to be working on new ideas rather than cashing in on somebody else's. Hopefully, new ideas will lead to new IPs.
I actually felt like reading that piece, but the wall of text burned my eyes. What were they thinking posting something like that? Haven't they heard of paragraphs?
They have the audacity to charge premium prices on games that are literally available everywhere else for a lower price, then sit around scratching their heads while wondering why the used games market makes such a killing. I swear, sometimes I think these companies are run by clowns (No offense to any clowns out there. You guys are great at what you do, but please stay out of the games industry).
Kaos Studios are on to something with the multiplayer. The gameplay actually feels tactical to me, which is a nice breath of fresh air after CoD. With a bigger budget and longer development time, they may be able to help it reach its true potential in the sequel.
It's not unplayable, but it's certainly not fair to lose a match on the count of technical shortcomings. Kinda kills the fun.
