I agree, a review should be just that- a review of an entire product, not just the first few hours or so and a couple of rounds of multiplayer. It's terribly misleading, not to mention half-assed, as it can ignore entire aspects of gameplay that aren't present in the first part of the game while also ignoring potential flaws, like wild difficulty spikes and uneven pacing, that can be present later on.
Critics should instead post first impressions of the game, then full revie...
Why is the acting always so awful in these TV spots? It makes me feel like such a dork for playing video games.
Spoilers in headlines are a pretty cheap, not to mention desperate, way to get hits. I stopped liking Kotaku about a year ago anyway, so I wouldn't ordinarily be bothered by their BS. But since I saw their spoiler-laden headline posted on this site, I can't help but to feel a little upset about it.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the lightning bolt haha. But still, I'd like to think Cole went on to a higher form of existence. It would be hard to see him return to scrambling over rooftops after that.
Yeah, the ending of Infamous 2 really brought things to a beautiful close, but I enjoyed the gameplay so much that I can't help but to want more of it. Hopefully, Sucker Punch will find a way to build on that gameplay with whatever they're working on next.
I don't like the black bars, but the cutscenes are certainly framed better with super widescreen enabled. At least we've got a choice in the matter.
You're right. Vita doesn't need a top tier FPS to be successful, but it would almost certainly be more so with one. And it's also the first console I've ever pre-ordered. That thing's a beast.
Whether you like CoD or not, that series will greatly contribute to the Vita's success if the games play like their console counterparts.
Imagine an open world, survival-based adventure game set in Jurassic Park. Then realize that we get Heavy Rain with dinosaurs, and go cry yourself to sleep.
They just started buying and selling Apple products, including the ipad. So now they're going to sell their own brand tablet to compete with them? I guess they make money either way, but it's kind of a puzzling move from a business perspective. Or maybe they're just mad geniuses.
Why would a game designed for motion controls make use of motion controls? Is this guy serious?
In Counter Strike, you have to take things more slowly, work with your teammates, and master your weapon. Personally, games like that are easier for me because they're not as reliant upon quick reflexes as something like Call of Duty. It really all depends on the player and his or her strengths as a gamer.
Anybody can get good at either game if they learn the ins and outs of the mechanics and practice enough- there is nothing special or elite about it, no matter how much that tho...
Keep scores, but change the scale. A ten point scale has little meaning when only 8s, 9s, and 10s are considered worth playing. True, there are some critics who make full use of the ten point scale, but how big is the difference between a 5 and a 6? And some may try and rationalize it by saying "7 is a good score, blah blah blah " but the truth is games are simply too expensive to reasonably justify playing anything better than the top crop.

She was too trashy in that game... Cartoon Harley on the other hand was cute as a button.
They didn't mention the increased frame rate in that product description... I've read that each game will run at 60 fps though. Snake Eater at 60fps is the biggest draw for me aside from being able to play through Peace Walker for the first time.
Yeah, that would make DLC worth it for a change.
I always have mixed feelings when I read about studio closures. On one hand, I'm glad there will be fewer developers making lousy games, but on the other I realize that these are people who have to make a living and may even have to support families.
I'm glad they show their appreciation to the fans.
Linear action games like CoD and GoW didn't spoil anyone's fun. For every linear shooter, you've got open world RPGs like Fallout and Elder Scrolls; action/adventures like the Assassin's Creed series, the Batman games, and the new Deus Ex; sports games like Madden and Fifa, arcade racing and sim racing games like Need for Speed, Forza, and Gran Turismo, puzzle games like Portal; and interactive movies like Heavy Rain, LA Noire, and even Metal Gear Solid.

That's a relief. Glad to see Skynet hasn't become fully self aware yet.
