XB1 packaging is minimal, bolder, more eye catching. Sony's is somewhat busier. I don't know if I saw both on the shelf side by side the Xb1 box would catch my eye more.
IMO, 30fps for a racing game is simply unacceptable in this day and age. Sorry but for racing, sports, and fighting games I believe that 60fps should be an uncompromising feature! If graphic short cuts need to be taken to maintain that frame rate, well then so be it!! Who gives a shit about "Global Illumination" if the game runs like crap?
Yeah, I can't quite put my finger on it but as nice as this looks, there's an "it" factor that seems to be missing with this game and I don't quite know what it is. I don't know if it's frame rate, smoothness, road side detail, I don't know but SOMETHING is off about Drive Club. I look at it and I can see individual things that look really good and are impressive but as a collective whole the game just seems to lack....I don't know....for lack of a better...
I don't criticize Nintendo for releasing family friendly titles. It's their bread and butter and it's what they do best.
What I DO criticize Nintendo for is not creating enough new IP's. They rehash and retool the same IP's over and over again!
I have nothing against family friendly games! I loved Little Big Planet, Journey, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, Rayman Legends, etc and they are all family friendly!
One of my most anticipated launch titles! This, along with Killzone and Watchdogs will be great games to play!
I believe TLG is coming but not for PS4. I still believe that this is a PS3 title all the way. For as long as it's been in development, I don't see how they not relase this for the much much larger userbase.
Great game, no way in hell is it worth paying 59.99 for though! This is at MOST a 39.99 game!
Hey ZB, I know this is supposed to be about the controller but what were your impressions of the games that were on display? Also, how about the glide pad? Did you ever get a chance to use it and did it seem natural to use or was it awkward?
That's actually a really good point. I know for myself I'm only getting Killzone, Knack, and Watchdogs at launch. However for PS3 I'm getting Puppeteer, GT6, Heavy Rain, etc.
"Killzone looked fine but not as spectacular as the E3 demo."
"Knack looked awful"
"Drive Club was poor with mediocre graphics."
Seriously TP, you're entitled to your opinion but your words make it sound as if you were at a totally different convention. Pretty much every other preview I've read for these titles from Gamescom was extremely positive. Especially Drive Club where many had remarked at ...
If Evolution Studios can get this to 60fps I will be thrilled. So far, that is my biggest concern with this game! I just feel that in this day and age, racing games, sports games, and fighting games should all be 60fps as an uncompromising standard!
Pretty sure that's not in game footage right there.

What I don't understand is why don't developers start giving console gamers 60fps and 30fps options the way many PC games do. Like in the menu settings have "60fps/less detail" and "30fps/more detail" options. That way gamers can have the choice.
Uh, yeah that sounds like a hoot.
#11: The PS4 is a steely-eyed missile machine that will take over your free time like a plague of locusts!!!
Agreed! More emphasis on story-driven action, adventure, and RPG titles with MP as a bonus. NOT the other way around!
More single player focused story driven games!
The sense of speed in Forza and GT is fine once you start racing with the higher performance cars. Of course you're not going to feel like you're burning up the pavement in a Ford Focus or Chryster Town and Country.
Well that was a let down. Glad I didn't stay up for this.
