There's no problem with product placement perse... The problem is when it's thrown to your face when the mood has not been preparing you for it.

Well some of them weren't really bad like the first time the flashlight appeared showing the obvious Energizer logo in it and the batteries all being Energizer and even the SYNC logo in the center background while Alan and Alice were talking inside the car...
However a Verizon billboard in the middle of nowhere with no other ad near or anywhere in the game and with no other made up products in the entire game while only showing Verizon like out of nowhere felt pushed into...

That's pretty much my sentiment towards games difficulty...
The only difference is that I normally start on normal/medium difficulty and work my over to harder ones.
Normal, most of the time, is simple with a slight challenge here and there. The best example in the top of my head of this is GOW3.

Conviction's stealth is a gimmick. The game is fun, but it isn't great nor a stealth game at all.
It's just a common action game with some cool cinematic interrogation moves.
About MGS4 I don't blame you... MGS is a great series, but I've always enjoyed the Splinter Cell series much more as stealth games.
Even though any game spoiled gets uninteresting for most, HR would still surprise you no matter the spoiler.
I got spoiled for HR, but the gameplay and the decisions I had to make really made up for the "who the killer was" spoiler (thing that got obvious at some point of the game, at least for me).
Alan Wake being spoiled is worse IMO because the gameplay doesn't vary much and the trajectory/environments of the game hardly change so you are...
I already saw PS3 footage and it looks and runs smooth, so there's no need to worry.

I've finished both and Uncharted 2 does not only looks much better, but it is arguably the best looking game this gen. The comparison isn't really fair to be honest.
Alan Wake looks nice sometimes, but its strength is not really in its visuals, but its atmosphere which is quite awesome.
