@jdktech2010
The DLC is completed...why give it as a bonus at all if it's finished and free, why not include it on disk?
You realise it's not actually ADDITIONAL quests and characters, but a quest line a character that were removed in order to act as a deterant against second hand sales.
So they ripped everyone off in order to make sure that poor people don't get all the content when then buy the game second hand....how very...
Do what I do, buy the vanilla game, and pirate all the DLC.
I bought the collectors edition last time thinking it would have the DLC with it, then after I'd ordered, before the game was even released they announced DLC not on the disk.
Collectors editions are B.S. They jus throw you a bone and then release the rest later.
DLC= Cut content.
Physical media will never die, I've pirated all the digital games I have bought and backed them up onto disk so if my HDD dies...I'm not up for 100gb of downloads.
I'll buy the physical alternative as long as it is printed and as I said, when they stop, I'll make my own.
Playing Dead SPace through again right now, DS2 is going to be one of the best games this year based on the footage we've seen so far.
@SuperKing
lol, maybe you should go into steam search and look at lost planet 2, dirt 2, resident evil 5, devil may cry 4, street fighter 4, bioshock 2 etc etc etc, all GFWL games, and all on steam. Think before you type.
@Persistantthug
MLAA is not an innovation...is blurs the entire scene in order to hide aliasing...if you think degrading image quality is innovative then you need to introduce your palm to your face. Covering a carpet stain with a disgusting rug is still $#!+ to look at. Same thing with MLAA. The blur is just as bad as the aliasing.
Tflops is also theoretical peak performance...aka something that is irrelevant for real world use, in other words every sing...
That's good to hear, if the majority of MMO's go free to play then I'll never have a gaming drought again.
@simonm
I have played few 'crappy ports' on PC.
The wolverine and transformers:revenge of the fallen are the only 2 bad ports I can think of, and I learned my lesson...don't buy activision games.
Lack of AA in some games is annoying, but it takes all of 5 seconds to force it.
@Charmers
Yeah man I'm f-ing amped!
I mean why play mature games like the Witcher when we have games like this where you can fart and burp like a real bad ass ( clearly the game was aimed at the lowest common denominator.
The game pretty much bombed in reviews, I wouldn't bother...
I don't get the point in these articles defending PC gaming. It doesn't need defending, as an open platform it has always thrived.
These articles are targeted at console gamers, and convincing people who think 720p ( a resolution half of what I was gaming on in 2003: 1600x1200 ) and 30 frames with screen tearing and frame rate dips with a $#!+ tonne of motion blur and mud filters to cover up lack of anisitropic filtering and AA....that PC gaming is viable and that ...
Portal 2 is the most overhyped game this generation.
The first game was a basic puzzle game that was extremely short and had 12 year old humour that made me silently snigger for all of 0.002 seconds.
It was basically a free game with the orange box and was then released for free to everyone on PC and mac...yet console gamers will pay $59 for the sequel :S:S:S
If anyone wants to get it they should pay no more than $10 at a steam sale.

^^^ jesus christ I must have been smoking crack.
"only only games tend to have much less maps"

@helrazor343
I'm not much of an online gamer either, I still play Unreal Tournament vs bots on a weekly basis though.
Games like that have 30 maps and all sorts of bot game modes including LAN plan...only only games tend to have much less maps ( Hint: DLC milking imminent ) and so people are 100% reliant on buying map packs to be able to keep playing, if there was more maps and an offline component people would get more value for money.

#1 reason why there should always be a local MP alternative. Online only MP is turns games into rentals instead of keepers.
Graphics matter.
Graphics are part of the immersion aspect and therefore the 'gameplay'.
Get a PC and get both. Performance also enhances immersion. It's hard to enjoy the action when a game is barely chugging along at 30 frames with screen tearing.
Awesome, I always backup my saves :D.
Unlocks > DLC.
Hopefully this game doesn't back single player content to nickel and dime people later
I'm pretty sure they announced there would be a tactical view in the PC version ages ago. I think the reason they didn't zoom the camera out is to just show off the fighting.
The camera goes pretty far out anyway, so as long as you can zoom out it won't bother me if it's not 100% top down.
As long as it's not an over the shoulder type deal ( console verison rofl rofl rofl )

A game does not need to be programmed with 3d in mind to get proper the best 3d support, look at the lost, 99% of the games in the 'excellent' and 'good' list were not made with 3d in mind.
I hate to tell you but most PS3 3d game quality will be in the 'good' category at best.
PS3: It only does inferior 3D.
"Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s Level Design is Multi-Path, Multi-Solution"
Good to see the game still has it's PC origins intact.
If it was a "CONZOLE EXZCLSIVEZ!" It would be a linear shooter with regen and an MP focus...
Thank god for PC...keeping originality chugging along.
