Zelda has been an active participant in saving hyrule since Ocarina of Time. Everyone always seems to ignore the fact that Sheikah, and tetra are zelda to suit their own arguments, or that she goes on her own adventure in skyward sword, or that mindna does most of the fighting in Twilight princess, or the fact that Royal family of hyrule is protected by impa.
The controls are nice and responsive. It's not that long but it's also still bloody hard to compensate.

The live at the treehouse stuff was a masterstroke they showed us at least 40 minutes of gameplay footage from almost every game they revealed. far more than the CGI trailers that MS and Sony filled most of their conferences with.

Gamers. All three consoles are getting some cracking new titles,MS are buckling down on the Xbox One, Sony are getting a frickin' Grim Fandango remake and Nintendo seem to be about to flood the WiiU with top quality exclusives as well as showing that their prerecorded conferences/ live gameplay demonstrations are better than a traditional conference.
Oh the hype's paying off. I'm wondering if they can keep riding it untill their heavy hitters actually show.

Dude you might want to look at how much money Skylanders and Disney infinity have made since their launch an then tell me Amiibo isn't chasing an incredibly popular and potentially highly lucrative market.
You might not like it and personally think they're a waste of money and that's fine, but calling NFC games unpopular is just plain wrong.

Something that does well in the US will probably do well in Europe, thus you hit two markets at once. Also North America is one of the Laragest producers of video games and makers of games, the same as music, TV ect. Go with what they know and make games that they personally would want to play.
