The Xbox brand's not going anywhere. Whether it will continue to be a game's console. Well only MS know that.
Female gamers are not Square Enix's target demographic... You do realize that JRPGs have a huge female following both inside and outside of Japan.
Also the main reason for 'censorship' in Bravely Second is because the ESRB take a very dim view of games that sexualise childredn (eg characters under the age of 18) and since i'm guessing Nintendo wanted a T rating and not an M or AO because a 16 year old character was wearing a slightly skimpier skirt. they tho...
I think the biggest problem Nintendo might have will be pricing.
Really? I've been wanting remote play on PC for ages. I'm really looking forward to it too.
Only thing i want that they haven't implemented yet is running games from an external HDD.
They don't need to get the series back on track. It's been consistently brilliant for the last 20 odd years.
Urgh.. the PS2 version of Max Payne was awful compared the PC one. If anything could do with a lovely new remake or a port of the PC version to consoles it's Max Payne.
Oh you are funny. Redefining for the sake of innovation! Yes redefining a console as PC in your living room!
there is nothing innovative about what MS are proposing at all! It's been done before several times by other companies. remember the ram packs for the n64 and saturn, the 32x perhaps, the mega-cd.
the limited upgradeablility of an Amiga or C64. being able to add extra bits on to consoles or closed environment computers is nothing new.
Discs only because they're cheaper. The console is set up to be a digital platform, the actual cost of software aside there is actually no benefit to physical. You have to get up and change discs whenever you want to play another game, while digital you just hit go.
it's not like the WiiU where you save disc space because the console reads the info off the disc. on the PS4 and Xbone when the game is installed it dumps the entire game onto the HDD the disc is in the d...
This really isn't surprising at all. The first Witcher game never came to consoles, Witcher 2 was a 360 exclusive and wasn't that widely known, Witcher 3 is the only one that really did big numbers on console.
If you want to get the whole story and for all your save files to carry over you have to play the game on PC.
Yes, but apple aren't making game's consoles. Sure you can play games on apple devices but their market and xbox are two very different things.
Shall we look at the history books kids at every other time a company has tried to do this... It was basically what sunk SEGA, the reason Majora's Mask didn't get the reception it deserved, and why a ton of saturn games never left japan.
Morale of the story dividing your user base with add ons to consoles never frigging works. Ever! Hell even adding new peripherals rarely works unless you force every dev to use it or there's a clear benefit to having it. Kinect, ...
It was actually on a Par with the PS2 grpahically the GC mini discs were only 1.5gb, you could swap out the 33k modem for a LAN adapter ( there actually was one released for it in Japan, along with a proposed DVD drive.
the second analogue stick could also be rectified by a new pad. or failing that the DC already had both a mouse and Keyboard and quake 3 on the console had cross play with PC and Mouse and keyboard support.
Uncharted pushed cinematic story telling and mocap forward. Halo pretty much revolutionised online MP on consoles. Also codified the standard console set up for fps's, it wasn't the first twin stick but its the example everyone followed.
No, the new game series is based off the comics not the TV show.
Hey, there was a dog with a camera strapped it's head. Now that's innovation....
I actually like Sony giving us indies. I get a bunch of interesting new game's each month that don't fill my HDD in five minutes that i otherwise probably wouldn't have played.
Meanwhile i'm safe in the knowledge that the games I've got on disc will probably not be simply given away for free (completely destroying their trade in value) a couple months after launch.
I'm not a romantic retro crew. I was there, and history is important. To say something pre PS2 onlY has novelty value is to completely write off the building blocks that lead to gaming as it is today. without the Game's I mentioned on that list we would not have the experiences we had today. today's creators were inspired by the games of the 70s and 80S.
It shows a complete lack of appreciation for the craft of game making, the history of the artform and the thous...
Bloody Philistine. Shall we list the greats. Super Mario 3/world, Monkey Island,Day of the Tentacle, Final Fantasy 4-9,Chrono Trigger, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, Flash Back, Cannon Fodder, just add your favourite game from the 20 years that preceded the PS2 here really.
If you can't see the value in the 8-32bit era, I pity you, I really do. You're obviously someone who has no appreciation for anything other than graphical fidelity and absolutely zero skills in t...
yeah you should consider getting the console with 90% of the same library.... That makes no sense at all. If you have a PS4 or an Xbone do you now what you should consider getting as a second console the WiiU. because its actually different, with a bunch of brilliant exclusives you couldn't play on the other console or a PC, you can pick them up on the cheap fairly easily now, and you can get a whole stack of good games for not that much cash too.
I guess a lot of them will end up at Media Molecule, which was actually founded by ex Lionhead and Rare staff. But it would be great if Sony just hired them all, founded Tiger Bonce and had them working on some sort of spiritual successor to fable.
