I am not full of bs mandf. I was playing the Last Of Us Part 2 from the added disc drive that I payed £100 for.
The title uses two disks, one for loading up and the second disk needs to be in the machine for gameplay.
As I said, mine sounds like a jet engine with the disc drive. I may have a faulty unit or I may not have attached the disk drive properly? Or the system is just perhaps very loud with certain titles like PS4 pro was. I have not had this...
So far, I am not impressed with the inconsistency of my Pro experience so far.
My unit is unacceptably loud when playing disc based titles. Bringing back my nightmares of the PS4 Pro.
Some titles look noticeably better, while others, the differences are barely perceptible.
I just don't feel it's worth it for what I paid.
In my opinion £650 with a built-in drive would have been fairer. £830 for minima...
I have to give my genuine 100% honest opinion. I was really not blown away by Ratchet & Clank on Pro.
Sadly, I think this is mostly down to the laws of diminishing returns as the game was already an absolute stunner on the standard PS5.
To me & my ocular peepers, the game only manages to look a smidgeon sharper but that's about it. I will leave it to the chaps on Digital Foundry to pick apart the details but for me the differences, while playi...
This has been my most played game on the regular PlayStation 5. So far, I have been very impressed with the upgrades on the Pro. I always raced with the highest possible FPS settings, therefore compromises were made to the trackside details and visuals in order to achieve this on the vanilla PS5.
Not so with the Pro. Everything suddenly clicked into place while I was racing and I realised what the developers have been saying all along regarding the console. Playing in full ...
You call this archaeology!
You're absolutely spot-on. I too, just about gave up on the game on PS4 Pro as it was such a blurry looking, vaseline smeared mess on my 4k tv set up at the time.
Looking back, the visuals were that blurred on Pro, I think I even ended up playing it on my original Ps4 & also tried to use different televisions.
Torture for me right now, as my unopened copy of Astrobot is sitting right in front of me & I'm unable to play it. I've traded in my PS5 console to go towards paying for the Pro. 7th November can't come soon enough.
Exact same with me. It was my Chrome book laptop that was giving me problems, I used my other laptop & bingo it worked right away thankfully. Congratulations on getting your order.
That is tremendous news that you both managed to get your Pro consoles. I was on the UK site first thing 8am this morning bagging mine. I really wanted to snaffle myself the 30th anniversary grey controller as well but it had already sold out.
Thankfully, it looks as though I will be able to get one on the 21st November, when they are released to the retailers, so all is good.
edit info for peppeaccardo. Unfortunately the PS5 external drive is currently ...
Phew, mission finally successful and I have got my Pro ordered. I used a different laptop. Still had issues though with the payment part being sluggish confirming my bank details, but this must obviously be down to the huge ammount of traffic currently on the site.
I am having ordering issues in the UK. I eventually got logged into the site and placed my PS5 pro order after having been in a queue for hours. Then after I clicked on confirm your purchase it said - 'something went wrong' and I don't know whats occurred. It still remained in my basket, so I tried once again and the same thing happened. I have the available funding on my card etc, so that is not the issue and it worked fine last week when I bought the £99 disc add on.
This is the current situation on the Playstation Direct website that I am met with trying to order my purchase. Message below has been copied & pasted from the official site. ### edit - I am in the UK.
PlayStation
You have been temporarily placed in a waiting room.

I would welcome an enhanced PS5 Pro Remaster if it had an abundance of quality of life improvements to the visuals and gameplay. My hope is that if this is true, we may get a sequel if it were to be financially successful.
With today's current exchange rate, in the United Kingdom it's an eye watering 1086 US dollars. 825 UK pounds total for a disc system with stand. You good folks in the USA have it easy for $800 compared to elsewhere around the world.
I am mitigating the overall cost by trading in my current PS5 console online for 275 plus 25 adding a voucher code. Trading in some games that have been gathering dust on my shelf for an additional 100. Lastly, in my case it is my birth...
I agree, although I might hold out for the PS6 Pro Remastered version. I should be getting my pension about then!
I will buy one.
I'll be honest, the price is a real kick in the b@lls for me but I will still do my best to secure a Pro on release day as I want the best possible clarity and fps. I have an Oled TV set up to showcase the titles.
I will mitigate the overall costs by trading in my original launch PS5 console. I can get £275 for it at present online. I have a stack of older PS4 titles gathering dust on my shelf that I can also sell online and add a...
So this is going to set me back 800 quid to play my disc titles!!!!! Bloody outrageous and at least 200 quid more than I thought it would be.
The only way whatsoever that I will be touching this, is if I can get at least 200 quid trading in my existing console.
Not happy about this in any way shape or form.
Edit - Just learning that it comes with a 2tb ssd. This mitigates my wallets pain a smidgeon.
I am showing my age, Heaven 17 were huge in the early 80s. Penthouse and Pavement was a classic album & 'temptation' was a big hit at the time reaching number two in the UK charts.
I absolutely agree, his use of profanity betrays his business acumen.
I'm returning my copy early as it's already bored me to tears & frustration playing this mediocre title.
Everything about it is half baked, from the bland story filled with banal characters, muddy vaseline smeared pop up graphics, awful and nonsensical mechanics, appalling AI, dreadful map navigation, garbage lightweight melee system and terrible combat.
My score is 5.5 out of 10 and that is being generous.
Eonjay, I found out what the problem was. While I was playing the Last of us part 2, I was unaware that disc two was still downloading in the background while I was venturing through the first hour or two of the game.
This happened through two separate play sessions and it was really noisy while I was playing. Mercifully, once the game had fully downloaded, It was, as you say whisper quiet thankfully.
The cost of Pro never bothered me, but rather the over...
