True. The whole propose of moving next gen is to replay my collection of old games on my current gen console even though I have too many current gen games with no time to play them all.

The thing is though BC, Remasters, PS Now serve different things.
BC is really for those that have a backlog of old existing games to play.
Remasters is for those that don't have these games from previous gen or for those that just want an upgrade version of existing games they have.
PS Now is really for those that want game streaming like with netflix with movies where in time they would also be able to play them on different devices oth...

If MS announced FF remake and Shenume at their conference they would have won hands down.
These two properties have an insane cult following. The mere announcement of their existence everyone knew would send shockwaves in the gaming community. To announce BOTH at one conference was just nuts.
Even the amazing U4 and Horizon gameplay footage which in any regular E3 would be the talk of the conference have been overshadowed by these two announcement.
Thats because literally everyone is saying this.
PS now main purpose is for streaming games. It is not a solution for BC.
Sony is also betting on streaming to become big in gaming like it is and already starting with other entertainment/media.
Think of like nteflix. You can stream it virtually on any device.
Remaster games is for those that
1. Never had the chance to play them last gen
2. For those that want an upgraded experience from the previous.
It will matter in this instance because the X1 price would not be affected.
How big of an impact we will wait and see. If the X1 started with this the impact would have been greater at the start. We shall see.

Lets face it. After Gears + Halo + Froza MS will basically blow all their load again. It takes time to build a following for a new IP like with Scalebound or even Horizon for Sony. It is why FF7 remake overshadow everything.

It laid a good foundation for a good franchise that is different from other TPS like Uncharted.
