Its an exciting new IP. Others we have seen are mostly franchise games we already seen.
Post apocalyptic open world with simple humans vs tech. I suspect throughout the game they will continue to acquire tech and progress even further

For me personally I chose PS4 because of Sonys history of delivering top notch games thoughout the console lifespan that caters to my diverse gaming taste. In the thats what it comes down to for me

Off course many PS4 gamers would want BC for PS3 if it was an option. But for an added cost most likely all of them would say no.

U4 won more E3 awards that all those games combined and will most likely get more GOTY awards than all those games combined next year.
Not their existing IP that were built abound tight liner progression in story. Imagine set pieces in Uncharted not progressing in a timely manner that they are because you go on 1/2 hr side missions in between them. It will just not work.
A new IP built around open world design yes.

It is actually troubling for MS to see that U4 is ahead of Halo 5 when U4 is not until march next year.

MS has done great with new IPs this gen. However it is obvious that he was referring to sales as in system sellers as well as the sales of these games. Not quality. Who knows, Quantum Break might be better than Halo 5
Halo is MS biggest franchise. After releasing it this year there really is no other game as strong as this game to sell more xbox ones next year. Gears is perhaps their second biggest but not as big as Halo.

I do see though the issue with scheduling many near the end of the year.
Things have changed. You don't have to release games only in the final half of the year.
Sony releasing bloodborne and U4 in the first half of the year is a testament to that.
with what Sony is planning with PSNow Sony's games will be playable even on TV's and mobile devices.
So really. Sony got MS beat in terms of choice in this regard.
Why don't people just upgrade their HD?. Great for new owners though. What will also matter to existing owners if they have support for external HD.
They should focus on fixing their console rather than focusing on competition.
