Well it's a separate game so no, you won't need Cyberpunk 2077. As for everything else then just wait till next year or year after and see.

A big main reason why for all those listed wash because their publisher and stockholders wanted more money. CD Project are their own self publisher so have much more control over the course of action they take.

Not that it couldn't happen mind you, but I would be surprised if their stockholders and themselves decided out of nowhere to change up the strategy at this point as their current one has netted them major dollars and good will. EA saw a massive surge in money wi...

It's gross that others are pushing for a $70 standard and paid upgrade next gen costs

Clickbaity a bit. They should of clarified CD Projekt and Cyberpunk online. Cyberpunk 2077 won't have MTX, they said that from the start. The DLC will follow witchers template with free DLC and paid expansions.

Cyberpunk online (or whatever they call it) which comes out much much later as a seperate product will.

Exactly. Basically it does look good for marketing though.

This.
As a laugh, I can already see when the first 'next gen' game comes out that run like crap on the 3080 and 3090's there will be articles and users that blame the hardware and not the software.

He was given the game by Activision so my guess is it's a controlled 'leak' for buzz and free PR. It's been up on the redit for 15 hours now with no takedown and a ton of feedback. Looks a lot like a way to save marketing dollars.

Just buy third party or play on gamepass which in the end the author did. Having games 'banned' in Australia hasn't been effective since way back when Left4Dead 2 launched now with digital marketplaces. If the ratings board doesn't want the doolaridoos to stay in the country then fine by me, I'll shop elsewhere. My only grip is they do shit like this then we hear that people are buying too much stuff overseas.

If you want gamepass and exclusive titles and don't want or have a PC. If you have a beefy PC I can't see a reason why you would get an Xbox console. Best combo next gen will be PC and PS5 easily.

@Stanjara

What does that matter?
Selling 10 mill on console and another hundreds of thousand or millions more on PC just booste the copies sold. More money for Sony at the end of the day. I'm sure they don't expect their PC sales to match console sales, only supplement them.

people think it devalues their console purchase for some reason. Console sales have traditionally not made money. They create a user base in your eco system where you make money off software and accessories.

Some 'fans' have a real "I don't like others playing with my toys" mindset.

Having the hard work of these game developers in the hands of a larger player base is great. You'd be hard pressed to find a single developer that says they don't want their work played by more people.

This is also my assumption. Have the Sony Studios game release on the console and give it 1 to 2 years for initial sales to dry up then reboost sales numbers in a second release wave on PC.

With Microsoft moving across PC, TV's and Androids via the Samsung partnership and their own console I guess Sony and their stakeholders want to also capitalise on the expanded market potential. Makes sense from a software sales side. I myself will still get the PS5 because I don...

It'll be interesting to see if collectors editions of games now come with a physical disc, code or an options for next gen. I saw AC Valhalla collectors edition for Xbox is getting a digital code and I wonder what direction other publishers will take.

No. WB Montreal who made Origins are making Gotham Knights which I think are their own universe not connected to the Rocksteady universe. Origns has character changes in design, especially with croc and a whole different voice cast.

Suicide Squad and Rocksteadys arkham trilogy are same universe.

Rocksteady univers and WB universe, it is odd though. Feels like it should be the other way around kind of.

Still with these articles?

Control and a few other's showed off the tech working and to great effect. Underutilised perhaps but failed? no. We literally just had the 1st gen of consumer based graphics now wrapping up with the 2nd wave hitting with this years gpus and consoles.

Plenty of people claimed ray tracing is usless and a 'gimmick' that we don't need but we will see a lot of sentiment change once the large console user base also get...

When I played I think the HBAO+ and some other setting were borked and would tank performance. Turning the 2 down allowed for 4k50-60 with the pc's Ultra textures DLC. Article also doesn't mention if they are also running MSAA 2,4,8 at 4k also.

There were however some strange 1 or 2 second dips/stutters at random points where frames would tank almost like a texture streaming or loading issue.
