It's pretty great in that regard. I can get my PS5 and then spend other money on more PC upgrades over another console. Get to play it all, very hyped.

If that was their main goal then I would very much agree but they have been clear about xbox becoming a platform, that's exactly the angle phil has talked about in the past with drawing in customers from everywhere.
It's about onboarding people into the ecosystem and xbox as a platform. The consoles will still be bought by people interested who don't want to buy a PC. Between console, PC xbox app, microsoft store, xcloud and I'm guessing TV xcloud integration with th...

Exactly.
I don't see Sony every using the microsoft store per say but the titles they choose to publish on PC will go through Steam I would assume. I could see perhaps, maybe, Sony has their own PC app to bypass other stores cuts.

potatoseal - "LOL. Dude they only have multiplat games. It is known. PC is not their platform."
Correct, but the worlds most used operating system is. I think you've trailed off from the convo the article points out.
Bronbron92 said, "So they’re not exclusives lol", where they are exclusives. Microsoft exclusives specifically.

Not sure why so many cages got rattled by this comment. That is literally how MS brands their exclusives now, as being exclusive to the xbox eco system over console, pc app and cloud.
You don't have to like it by any means but that is how they brand things as their exclusives.

Well yeah. It was but now it isn't

Microsoft exclusive titles. Windows is a Microsoft OS and platform. So technically he's not wrong unless they say console exclusive.

An article based on a reddit post based on a single statement from a discord chat with no context.
Seems the author is really digging through the weeds to make a story here. Until officially confirmed it should still very much be taken as rumor.

It's the classic "I don't play it, therefore it must be dead" gamer takes.

Destiny a failed experiment? What are you smoking? They are releasing a new expansion, have the roadmap for the next 3 years planned and had enough money to buy out of their contract with Activision Blizzard, keep their IP and still stay afloat in the process.

The halo and destiny franchices are one hell of a trick then. Plus they were bought, by Activion Blizard up until recently when THEY left activision to go independent.

Possibly a Cassie story or Sam and Scully's adventure

It doesn't work that way. A faster ssd alone doesn't mean drastically faster game loading. Architecture, io and software utilisation play a major role.

Exactly. Predominantly a PC player myself, the fanboyism needs to take a rest with people. To many people think gen 4 m.2 means fast game speeds. I mean a simple youtube search shows the difference from top tier ssd vs m.2 is a difference of maybe a few seconds.

These faster game times are coming to PC but at a later date. Nvidia are working on their new Nvidia io to release later:

It doesn't make any difference for current gen games on the current windows versions. New API is coming at a later date from Microsoft for fast loading. Gen 4 m.2's are primarily aimed at creative workloads currently.

The difference in pc ssd game loading speeds is a few seconds at best between games. The new console fast loading will be coming to windows through a new API called direct storage.

1911d ago 2 agree6 disagreeView comment

What makes you think that?
Series X will be faster than PC due to new architectural changes much like playstation, which is why microsoft is is working on bringing direct storage to PC also

No. Probably just a partnership of some sort and collaboration projects together planned. The HP Reverb G2 Virtual Reality Headset coming out this year was made in a join effort between HP, Microsoft and Valve for example.

I mean, yeah sure they are great but really it should be "9 Reasons to Invest in a Gaming PC". There's no need to quit one to have the other.
