I know a lot of people loved it, and it presented many many exceptional moments in character interaction and story telling. Even though the story itself was fairly predictable, it was presented so well it didn't matter. The opening act is one of the most stunning sequences across any form of media ever.

And the world itself is beautifully detailed as well.

However, a few of the head scratching gameplay choices, and the game design itself in the later ha...

Not quite sure what you meant by talk over half the people, it wasn't my intention to insult anyone so I apologize if it came across that way.

You bring up a good point about where the line is, and it is not a simple thing. Unfortunately, everything is done in broad strokes with little common sense being used.

Thank you for your reply and giving me food for thought.

I'm not trying to poke the beehive here, but there seems to be a little bit of hypocrisy going on.

I fail to see how so many people are up in arms about people uploading, and making money off of, let's plays and such no longer being able to ... defending their right to make money for the content they produce.

Yet, when it comes to used games, pirating, and even some of these full play through let's plays, which deny developers and others from gett...

I am curious how releasing the original Super Mario Bros or Zelda would devalue their newer iterations on the WiiU or 3DS. Not trying to pick an argument, just trying to understand your reasoning. I'm always trying to improve my business knowledge so other opinions are always welcomem

And yes, they do receive 100% now but it is only to people who already have a system. The idea of spreading out older iterations is more akin to marketing than profit gathering.

I actually think Patcher has a valid point in Nintendo bringing the older classics to the smartphone market. It really shouldn't cost them anything to port, and any money would be gravy. At the least, they could put out a few titles as an experiment. Keep new titles on their newer systems but let the older properties keep making them money as well.

As for Iwata failing, he was the brains behind the Wii and the DS. I fail to see how he's a detriment. I just bought...

I don't necessarily agree with full retirement, but I do think giving more leeway to others might yield positive results. There have been a few cases (Super Mario Galaxy 2 comes to mind) where Mr. Miyamoto's involvement almost came across as a detriment, if you take to heart some of the interviews with the development team. I don't want him to go away by any means, but when I hear how he refuses to let Eiji Aonuma work on anything but Zelda, or how Yoshiaki Koizumi has to fight to...

It could be them just looking for hits or it could be an honest sense of disappointment. Zelda is a series held to a high regard. Even if it is near perfect gameplay wise, fans expect an indescribable wonder - a 'magic' if you will - that sucks them into the world and makes them ready to crawl into the next dungeon even though its 5 in the morning. If you don't feel that (like what happened with Skyward Sword for me), then the game feels like a massive let down, even if it'...

I agree with the author but am curious to the impact of adding another aspect.

Make the move pools more pokemon specific.

I know my electric pokemon will always have thunder bolt or its physical counterpart, I know I can teach a lot of non-electric monsters thunder bolt. I know my final team will have nearly the same move pool as the previous game. It significantly reduces the need to branch out into different pokemon and fails to give them different ide...

Fascinating post with a lot of well conveyed information. Made me start thinking of ocular shortcomings in other areas beyond gaming.

Excellently written with very strong points. I think the biggest force behind the hatred is the safety the internet provides. Half these people wouldn't dare say what they do in a face to face conversation. The other half are 14 year old kids whose social skills are being derived from Xbox Live.

A very intelligent and well spoken post.

Certain aspects from Skyrim if handled well could be cool.

Honestly, I'm more concerned with them:

A) Bringing Fi back or adding a similar character ... by the fourth dungeon everyone realizes a key goes into a door. We don't need several camera shots and two expositions on it every time.

B) Not repeating each section four (nearly identical) times.

There could be some interesting aspects to a more modern or futuristic take, but honestly, I see this along the lines of making Zelda more Mature with an older rating.

I really don't want to see Grand Theft Hyrule with guns.

Well spoke- er written.

I hope many of us agree that there needs to be more of the anger/dissatisfaction honed to a knife's edge instead of the normal blazing rages.

People also need to realize that business follows the money. Microsoft would never be doing this if they didn't think they were going to reap massive profits. Like EA, they won't change if we complain while we still buy their product.

In all the furor over the used games controversy, this article brought up a bigger issue (although it only touched on it) that I have not seen many people discussing.

What happens to my games when the console stops authenticating? Microsoft has said nothing about this, and no one in the media has demanded an answer. I know many gamers never come back to older titles once finished, but I find having the option to be valuable.

And another thing is that immedi...

It may not be a future we want, but it is the one the majority asked for or appeared to desire.

Look how explosive social networking has become in a very short period of time. I have to be able to tweet about the movie I'm watching while Facebooking this new video I found while watching said movie all while listening to music and blogging about it. We're so interconnected, and keep asking to be, of course Microsoft is going to try and capitalize on a trend.

The results of the experiment, and the multitude of comments completely missing the point of said experiment, speak volumes of our world's current understanding of value, consequence, and basic right and wrong.

Should DRM be eliminated? Yes.
Should games have demos? Yes.
Should you buy a game if you play it? Yes.

Excellent and heartfelt. It echoes many of my thoughts on current trends.

To bad more people will attack/ignore posts like this than agree with it.

Most of the games mentioned above are shooters, which kind of triggered an interesting thought:

Maybe the problem isn't a lack of quality, it's a problem with bleed through. More specifically, a heavy lack of diversity between genres.

The Thief remake kind of points to this. It's a stealth game, and judging from the CVG interview, the testers (the professionals) have whined about not being able to take out a room like its a Call of Duty game. ...
