I think what astounds me most about microsoft is their use of the kinect technology. A piece of kit that can map video footage of the human body in 3D space and then use human movement as input for electronic devices would allow microsoft to develop an OS that would literally kick the shit out of Apple's touch screen. If designed and marketed well it could become the staple of windows 8 giving it the flow and technological 'wow' factor that has allowed apple to start gaining a hea...
"where u feel like you have done it all?"
Firstly if you're going to try and put across your opinion then do it professionally. The abbreviation 'u' is a big no no.
Secondly for about three weeks I felt as though I had 'done it all', then I decided to build a floating island. I'm on my eighth floating paradise with hills and rivers, along with sixteen houses, a floating ocean, a metro system running thirteen miles, a citadel that span...
I know stalker is technically based in a real life location but if red dead can slip through then I think that the incredibly detailed, alien, and dangerous world of the zone should as well. The A-life system gives the world a real life ecosystem that's constantly functioning around the player. It controls everything down to a dog's decision to attack the player taking into account hunger, potential danger and the animal's current health. CoP takes it even further giving npcs thei...
a) I'd never heard of this mod until they brought it to my attention.
b) It's a mod. It's not a product of the 'games industry', just the creation of some guys with too much time on their hands.
c) So what? They can make movies about school shootings but games are a no go? How come movies can get away with stuff like 'I spit on your grave' and 'A serbian movie' but games can't contain that kind of content? There's a...
Okay... we're... all... losers...
Firstly I was using the phrase in the same way that for many years 'first person shooters' were just referred to as 'Doom Clones' (you wouldn't call Duke nukem 3D a clone in the strictest sense would you?).
And secondly I HAVE played this game and the setting, plot, style, and shooting mechanics are all extremely reminiscent of CoD. I would gladly describe this game as an extended section of modern warfare 2's suburban areas.
Minecraft offers hundreds of hours of gameplay...
Or Oblivion, or Morrowind, or fallout, or total war, or world of warcraft, or starcraft, or team fortress 2...
Now those games offer hundreds of hours of gameplay, I'm sorry pal but a Call of Duty clone with a five hour campaign doesn't.
I wonder if he knows just how much of an arsehole he seems by saying this?
"So yeah, I pretty much lied through my teeth about every game I've ever been involved with, I've ignored the constructive criticism levelled at fable, screwed PC Gamers out of two sequels, and allowed my games to be released in a ridiculously buggy state... but yeah, *cute face* SOWIE!"
As nonsensical as this comment is I agree. A drug developer couldn't come out and say their drug cured cancer when it didn't, the head of coca cola couldn't turn around and say their new brand of coke lowers blood pressure when it doesn't. What he's doing may have no malicious intent but it's still at the core extrememly damaging because people often buy games based on the hype that is generated from journalism and interviews.
At the very core of what...
"While you do make some good points you can't get past the point that you haven't actually played they game, therefore nothing you say hold any context to Homefront its self."
I'm not trying to focus on the game so much as THQ, their business strategy and what people will perceive from looking at the game. Like I said, I've no doubt the game will in all likelihood be quite solid. My two favourite all time games are in fact 7/10's.
At the heart of this process is simply the fact that a) THQ made a stupid decision and b)people love deriding those who make stupid decisions.
This is capitalism we live in and part of the process is that people lose when they don't meet the standard required of them. Homefront isn't just a failure in terms of gameplay or graphics, the reality is that it's probably a decent game. But the failure was in THQ missing the gaping trap that awaited any immediately relea...
This was announced about a fortnight ago.
This is nice to see as opposed to the childish mud slinging you see between companies like EA and activision. CRYTEK, dice, 3d realms, and epic are just some of the few who've been found slagging off their competitors and it's nothing short of embarrassing.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Watching Valve go on about all these games that aren't ep3 is like watching a prostitute juggle. Yeah it's pretty impressive they're doing it and it's nice to see they're pursuing other interests but you kinda just want them to get back to business ASAP.
Maybe they should listen to their fans instead of changing their game in the hope of appealing to a greater audience. There so much consolization going on from crysis 2 to da2 it's so horrible watching these devs piss all over their original fans.
Also the games dev time was a year... Even the factory made cods have 2 years. If you ain't madden you need at least 3 years dev time for it to be great
Lucky sonnofa bitch.
No, degrading would be if they got paid in special one time only tickets to special Gearbox motion capture 'auditions' for a unique upcoming artsy project that focusses on the beauty of the naked female form.
what?
If it were refined to basic hand gestures (which wouldn't be hard to do) there'd be no need to clear 10 inches in front of your monitor.
