@CaptCalvin - to laminate is to layer two different materials and fuse them. It is generally used in reference to plastic being laminated onto things such as wood flooring or paper and card. I am suggesting that usually these models look like they have been covered in a thin film of plastic. They look fake. i.e. laminated.
It's cool that they seem to have learnt from their mistakes. The real issue with crysis 2, despite being only moderately good at everything other than graphics, was that it could have been something so much better. It was a totally lost opportunity.
You select what you want. I hate the changes to Alyx's model (beauty is not removing clothes, laminating their body, and face slamming them into make up over and over) but the graphics mod is INSANE. Fakefactory really brings life back into the game. It's such a shame that the extreme attention to graphical detail he has gets overshadowed by the third rate models he includes in his pack as optionals. People just look at the shots, grimace, and then never look back.

The thing behind dogs is they're meant to be a particular breed that's very popular in Skyrim.
Also I'd say skyrim is more varied than oblivion. Whilst not as exciting as morrowind or shivering isles it shows a lot of carefully thought characterisation in the environment. From swamps to lush open meadows it lays down a variety that still stick within the overall theme of "Jesus H Christ it's cold here".
And yeah the balance is a bit...
Yeah I couldn't help but notice that. "Almost completely overhauled."
Uh huh... a little big mistake right?
These were supposed to come out fuckin' ages ago! Pre-ordered one and the damn thing just never came.
I'd like to see left4dead 3 but I've been waiting longer for half life 3 and l4d2 and l4d1 still do a great job of scratching that itch. By the time you consider maps and custom content then you've got games with serious longevity. Unless valve comitted to something entirely new there's simply no need.
IMO valve succeed in taking sequels in totally new directions. L4d3 should consider being really out there. Taking the spirit of left4dead and taking it somewhe...
No - it's not. Contrary to popular belief the insanity plea is not a get out of jail free card it's actually worse. Statistics show people declared insane by a court of law spend more time incarcerated in special facilities than if they'd had a legitimate sentence. The only difference is the core ideology behind the court's sentencing. One deems you too vile to live in society the other deems you too broken.
We don't live in Gotham city where lunatics get ...
Yes because those developers who aren't making much money and are desperately working to get their titles released before they're likely stamped on by larger AAA titles just aren't passionate enough.
Just look at IO interactive and Kane and Lynch. The series damn near cost them everything - it was fucking insane of them to make K&L2 as opposed to hitman 5 because only one of those games was gonna make money. Sometimes making what you love and what's going ...
Steam does a damn better job of it than GFWL ever did. GFWL slows the hell out of my computer, causes stuttering issues, connectivity issues, makes it difficult to play multiplayer because it needs port forwarding where as steam just works straight off the bat. It's a poorly designed piece of crap that's uglier than Bill Gates' balls. GFWL is to video games what a three inch thick condom is to sex. Unnecessary and wildly unpleasant and no reward is worth under going the discomfort...
Yeah because nothing disuades piracy like making legitimate sale a pain in the ass and giving piracy a good excuse.
And as for games for windows live preventing piracy!? Are they serious!? Steam prevents piracy. Windows live prevents you from keeping your God damned achievements and privacy. Piracy is rampant on GFWL just like any other platform.
Exactly. They want my money and I want their game. It's nothing short of common sense that they give me the best game and I'll give them more money. It doesn't need to be whining or entitlement it's just basic conversation between producer and consumer.
And honestly it's not a little mistake either. I mean a little mistake would be if they left "press A to start" on the main menu. Or if they left mouse smoothing on by accident and patched it afte...
Minecraft, space pirates and zombies, terraria, portal 2, bastion and batman arkham city were all recent games trying to break the mould. I mean seriously every single game that gets released NEEDS a gimmick to survive so quite frankly you couldn't be more wrong. Mass effect pioneered interactive story telling, portal pioneered the puzzler while capcom pioneered re-releasing the same game with an X after the title. If you gave me a list of every game released in the last ten years I'd...
They're both buggy, poorly written and have terrible voice acting. Lost planet was just about competent and dead rising turned zombies into kittens you could brush off with a bit of shaking.
I completely agree with this guy. Japanese games are borderline at the best of times. Story is terrible, characters are terrible angsty unrelatable assholes who look like pre-pubescent children stretched into adulthood. I can't believe anyone has the audacity to claim the metal ge...
These guys deserve steak and blowjobs for the next three years. I mean seriously, the sheer dedication these guys have for their work is insane. They've tackled this with the talent, foresight, and skill of a professional team for a non-profit project that wasn't even part of their job.
Considering they said the trailer they released a while back was way out of date despite still being freaking awesome is hopefully a good tell that this mod (game?) is gonna be incred...
I'd like to see more of these articles covering differing genres. I think FPS's are actually more suited to this sort of thing because an okay FPS can still fill a role similar to a cheap B-movie. RPG's require such time investment whereas FPS's don't and hence encourage a bit more risk taking. A crap FPS will cost you ten to twenty hours at most and you'll probably realize long before then, but with rpg's there's no way of knowing you're just not playing i...
The steam workshop is great but 100mb size limit on files!? Are they serious? I used to download oblivion mods bigger than a gig - Skyrim's are obviously larger.
Creation kit for consoles would be cool. I think everyone deserves the full experience but the reality is Microsoft just wouldn't allow that sort of ownership between the players and the game. They'd want to charge for every mod downloaded, for every skin retextured or for every unofficial patch installed...
Wow theres nothing like getting excited over some news only for it to be in German. I don't want to seem hostile to other cultures but for the sakes of common sense and practicality shouldn't German gaming sites written German with a German audience NOT get posted on a site with primarily English speaking readers.
Is this sarcasm or just good old fashioned stupidity? I can't tell any more.
Well the inherent issue is that, yes, there is a need to be impatient. Half life 2 isn't some magical anomaly in the gaming industry - we know where it came from and why it worked. What it did that made it so great has since been become expected of games. Everything from an engaging story, coherent world, art style, story, characters, narratives, environments - these are all considered normal now where as they weren't for half life 2.
Eventually there's going to b...
