With the upgradeable Console, I like the idea. Similarly to Razor's project Christine Concept. You want the need graphics card, undock old one, give to friend. Dock and install new one. That is all. Games are already saved on your Hard Drive. Swappable hard drives also with the ability to transfer saves if you're upgradeing your hard drive.
Wife surprised me with the God of War LE PS4 Pro. Was only expecting the game. Needless to say I greatly appreciate what I got.
Embarrassing to admit but this one is a game I still need to go back and beat. I stopped when I capped at level 50. I think the Expansion upped the Cap to level 60. I guess was just waiting for a level 80 to 100 type of finale but I don't think that's happening. So by back log/future/rerun kind of looks like this.

2) Play God of War New Game+
3) Play Spider-Man
4) Replay HZD and actually finish.

And it one less HDMI cable you have to deal with. And power cable.
Not sure about TVs but definitely Sony and Samsung Blu-ray players. But they nixed those and stuck to PS3/PS4/PS5. I think the cost to support something that was low on demand was too much and soon to be cut from PS3. I've utilized it most on PS4 and PC and it works pretty dang well.
My wife and I just bought a 75" Samsung 4K HDR. Had to skimp away from the 82/85 inchers until later down the road. But we also cut cable for almost a year now and haveing a smart TV is beneficial if you subscribe to Netflix and Pandora or other applications. Your TV these days are like one giant Smart Phone. The only thing that doesn't seem to be integrated is VoIP. If this is the future then I'd have to say it Sony already has an advantage in this. They could immediately rejuve...

I keep thinking in my mind, I thought Xbox One X was supposed to be next gen. PS4/Xbox One, PS4 Pro/Xbox One S, Xbox One X/PS5. I mean the Xbox one X was such a huge leap above Xbox One S compare to PS4 pro from PS4. At 6.2 teraflops and 12 gigs of RAM is should have better visuals. Like X360 to Xbox One kind of difference
It really is a different perspective. You eventually will have a $60 plastic disc with nothing other than an activation code. It almost makes digital purchase more relevant but exactly what Activision and I'm sure any company would like to get to. If they don't have to pay for manufacturing cost suck as disc + disc case then that's more money for them without the middle man. Strange Strange future. Not sure if I like it or not.

That's correct as of December 31, 2017 PS4s sold was at 73.6M. So 10 million for the year would put PS4 @ 83.6M. So 82.2M shipped by end of June and now we're at the end of July. Vgchartz of all things have PS4 at about 200k per week. At that rate 83.6 would be reached by week ending 13 October. And if PlayStation only does 100K per week it'll reach 83.6M by week ending 26 December. Some things to consider though:

Or some of these consoles belong to kids whose parents won't allow them online or with a credit card.
Yeah to me it's either way. Big hit AAA games I like to have physical. I tend to buy most of PSVR digital. Also if PSN is having a sale and significantly cuts the cost of some of their sales then I may buy something digitally there.
Patiently waiting for this game while still getting through Detroit Become Human. I'm kind of a slacker. Actually just very busy.
Let me be clear that i enjoy Quantic Dreams games and am playing through Detroit Become Human now, and I get it no company is perfect you're always going to have those key people who spoil the work environment for certain behaviors. And by no means am saying that Sony is or will acquire Quantic Dreams but they were the timing I think would just be awful. Other studios I can see Sony talking about mergers if at all are interested is Insomniac and Supermassive Games.
Yeah the timing for Sony to Aquire Quantic Dreams would be terrible. If it wasn't for this issues Detroit Become Human would have been a great reason to do so. I would wait for QD to get their morals and act together before Sony thinks about aquiring them. Just my thought.
I don't think Sony wants to invest in Crossplay with these throw away games. Fortnight might be all the rage now, but it won't be when the next major game comes out next year or year after that and become the next big thing and Fortnight squanders to low and barren population once the fad lifts.
