Seriously sick of million page articles too.
Agreed, getting this ASAP.
Love that they're continuing to support this awesome program.
I'll up the ante...
I miss when gaming news was previews and tech features.
News of all kinds has gone down the drain. The TMZ-ification of information distribution sucks in general, but it makes so damn little sense in this realm.
This industry needs a reboot.
Yep, agreed Fox.
These articles remind me of all the "preview-reviews" of Wolfenstein the New Order.
As we recall they were followed up by tons of "I have to eat crow articles."
Played and beat the main game and DLC on PS3 and I consider my day one purchase of the Remaster money well spent.
The game is superb...and just gets better at 1080/60 with a DS4 in hand.
Same thing I was thinking...can't compete directly with a game on a different platform.
Indirectly and in new console acquisition for huge racing fans, that's a different matter.
I think the 20 year gap could be interesting...
...but I firmly believe the game should jump forward to when Ellie is the age of Joel in TLOU or something like it. Probably long after Joel is gone.
That way they can explore Ellie's long dormant feelings about the adventure they shared, by being placed into his shoes.
Would have a huge emotional impact even just seeing what the decades have done to Ellie. I can only imagine what could come...
Agreed -Foxtrot.
I also am tired of people defending him in the vein of "this big personality is a consequence of his genius."
It's pure BS. There are thousands of devs as good, and often FAR better, that are as humble as hell.
There is no excuse for being an ungrateful jerk.
Not interested in having the game spoiled..just give me the game...now...
Top lists used to be carefully thought out labours of love. Modern gaming journalism has turned the whole genre of articles into a bit of a joke. Too many lists, so many of them bad.
Yeah, PC is completely ignored by all these "articles." This, despite they are preaching an end to fanboyism, meanwhile they write with an agenda driven bias.
I'm sick of people trying to get ahead by any means necessary then crying victim.
I enjoy ALL platforms and buy ALL brands. This changes nothing. It still bothers me when a company wastes money blocking people from a sequel. It's money that could be spent on new titles or heck, even re...
So...could the timed exclusivity of a sequel to a game that under performed as a multiplatform (according to Square Enix) cause millions upon millions of people, who otherwise weren't going to, to spend $400, plus tax? Um...gaming journalism is out of ideas. Like, what in the world?
MK8, a true exclusive sequel to some of the best selling games in history hasn't changed the Wii U's sales in a major way, and it's only $300 for the deluxe model.
No...you don't get it. Tlou and Bloodborne exist because Sony commissioned them. Sony essentially created them from nothing by funding them from inception and publishing them. That is a first/second party game.
A third party exclusive, such as Rise of the Tomb Raider is the result of a company creating nothing, but rather paying to ensure an existing game isn't released to others.
The difference is similar to going to a restaurant you like and placing...
Absolutely right.
Fanboy stuff has to stop. I own all brands, but STILL hate this stuff.
The reason? You are exactly right, it's money being paid that could have funded a new IP. It doesn't enrich my user experience at all, because I would have played the game anyway.
It's just less money toward a new great IP.
I disagree. I love the IP, but the model of snagging third party stuff out of under the noses of fans is a terrible way to get them to buy your console.
Something like Titanfall, while third party, was different because the IP wasn't universally known/enjoyed.
A move like this, though likely timed, is extortion. Not only does it make me think less of MS, it confirms that this game will be bargain bin for me. I was going to preorder it, but supporting a de...
Yeah and in reality I could have gone on for ages about the hypocrisy of an article criticizing gender stereotyping that automatically assumes that what occurs is due to some form of gender stereotyping.
The fact is though, it's difficult cherry-picking points to focus on when an article is so incredibly misguided in every direction.
Spoilers follow: That said, Joel isn't only attempting to make up for the loss of Sarah and his failure to save her, it...
First off: SPOILERS in this article. Not buried, right from the first line.
Secondly: I used to think I was a "liberal."...but this new generation of insane agenda-driven delusionals makes me look like a hardcore conservative.
This has surpassed the point of absurdity. ND has made a game with strong female characters and complex themes, yet it's still subject to an analysis that holds Joel to an absurd social paradigm generated in a vacuum, 20 y...
So tired of people saying "I don't like something, therefore it's not good."
Grow up and realize that tastes vary. This game won more GOTY awards last year than any game in history. Tons of people, myself included, regard it as one of the best games ever.
Does that mean you should like it? No...but it's time you realize that the world doesn't revolve around your preferences.
What do you mean by 'PC'?
Technically any personal computing device can be considered a PC.
...now you see how annoying it can be to have your point needlessly derailed by semantics?
Yep, why limit yourself?
I agree totally. If you can afford it, get any/every console that has games that interest you. Then play whatever you like.
Done.
