Man, I really gotta get this game; it just seems like exactly the type of game that I'd love, and the expansion sounds wonderful! ...and one of the characters is a boy who lives in a spider that once tried to eat him?? That's just... win. So dang creative.
Invisible, Inc looks really good. A procedurally generated X-com-like game should just be a great combination. So many gameplay possibilities there!
Very cool looking game! Thanks as always for the giveaways!
Thanks for the 4D examples and explanations, Cat. It really helped me get an idea of how the game works. Once again, this game sounds really cool and unique!
Thanks for the interview! This game would be quite a sight to see in VR :) I'll keep an eye out for this game on Steam!
Well, I'm certainly trying to wrap my head around 4D... trying! I think I need a visual example (guess I go look one up!).
Trying to design a game around 4 spatial dimensions must be quite a challenge as as developer! Although I must say, I don't quite understand where the 4th dimension is exactly in this game (maybe I'm just ignorant! :D).
Nice! Miegakure looks really new and interesting; never seen a game like it.
Thank you for such a detailed article! It's really cool how you get some of your ideas. Meditation must really do wonders for creativity and inspiration for game design. Also, that's a great list of some Do's and Don'ts! I think a lot of devs could stand to listen to that part! :)
Thanks for taking the time to go through all of this for the article. I have some basic (very basic) idea of how programming works, so this is very interesting!
Thanks for sharing, it was a good read! Very interesting background to go from 3D design to criminology and forensic science to then making games.
Thanks for the write-up; very good read! :)
Man, such awesome devs for caring so much about people and charities! I hope they can continue to grow and make games for Steam and the like :)
Nice interview! And yikes, there are 5000 different types of Android phones/tablets? Man, I can really see why iOS would be more appealing to develop for.
Wow, that's fantastic that you donate parts of your revenue to charity! I hadn't heard about ParticleBOOM! before, but I'll definitely go check it out.
Thanks for the giveaway. Also, it's awesome of you guys at N4G to match the prize cost and give it to charity! :D
I can definitely see where you're coming from. This years E3, for the most part, didn't really have a lot of new IPs. To me though, there was one new IP that truly got me excited as a gamer: Splatoon. That game was just so darn fun looking :)
Indie devs really are the ones truly innovating and taking risks these days though, no doubt about that. Indies will probably end up saving the AAA game industry... because the AAA industry will probably just end up copying all ...
Cool! MGS3-like health system. It's awesome in games to actually have to deal with your injuries; that really adds a lot of realism to the game. Also, I really like how they will delay the consequences of your actions to prevent restarts, that seems like a good solution to that issue.
Really good looking game! I like that it's based more on psychological fears, rather than combat. I always enjoy those type of horror games more. (Of the few that I'll actually play!)
Wow, I had no idea that this game supported mods, that's awesome! Glad to see that the devs encourage it :)
