Wow, they were working for a few YEARS without being paid on this game? That's some serious dedication to your project!
It's too bad that Devs in Croatia aren't met with tons of approval, as he mentions. Hopefully, other people will see the passion that teams like Ironward have for their games and that will change.
Sounds like my kind of game! I love skill based games that have that easy to learn, hard to master element. And 8 player co-op sounds like a blast!
Looks like a really cool game! Thanks for all of the giveaways, N4G!
Sounds great! Really interesting concept of not having any weapons and only being able to dodge to stay alive. And "obtainium"? Haha, I get it :D
I really like what you wrote in the "Design Philosophy" section. It seems like quite a number of big games these days hide behind amazing visuals and the like, instead of getting that core, fun gameplay right. Oh, and this article reminded me: I gotta get Darksiders. Can't believe I still haven't tried it yet! (Steam key if I win, thanks!)
Good to know that Lost Orbit has been received well. I hope more people will find out about it, 'cause it looks awesome! Also, it's cool that one of your influences was “Data’s Day"! I love that episode of TNG :)
I don't think I've ever seen a game like Lost Orbit before, it looks really intriguing. It's good to read that they don't use "annoying monetization strategies" in their games; that's always nice to hear these days. (Steam key if I win, thanks!)
Lost Orbit looks like a lot of fun! I'd like a Steam key if I win, thanks N4G.
Really thorough review, better than a lot of game sites! Rocket League just seems like it's packed full of options and modes. I love the cross-platform play. It's so nice to see that popping up in more and more games these days.
Good interview! It's great that they can get the game to so many people through PS+ who, without that, might not have played it. I'll definitely check the game out on Steam myself. The game looks like a blast to play!
I like the sound of their unlock system. Win or lose, you get something. I think that will certainly keep players playing the game.
It's cool that they focus so much on replayability, that's such an important element for games. Awesome video too. It's great that Rocket League has 4 player local co-op. More games these days need to focus on the "local" part of co-op!
Whoa, Rocket League! Man, that looks like fun. Thanks for doing all these giveaways, N4G!
Really solid advice. I really like the 5th habit about being a daydreamer. It must be quite difficult to balance adding new features to a game to possibly improve it, and understanding what kind of undertaking it will be for the programmers, artists, etc. to actually implement a new feature into the game.
I guess a designer must really need to have a solid idea of what the game is, and what it isn't right from the beginning to have a successful game project happen.
Making your own mythology sounds like such a new concept for a game. I really want to see just how that works. It's great that there are 6 character classes too. That always gives a game so much more depth.
I love the artistic design of Moon Hunters. I'd definitely like to try the game out with some friends.
Shattered Planet looks very interesting! Thanks once again for the giveaways, N4G!
The Shadow Core does sound like an interesting gameplay concept. Since you mentioned that its execution isn't perfect at the moment, I do hope that they'll get the idea working right for the game by its release.
Good interview! I'm really glad that their Kickstarter was a success, 'cause Light Fall is an awesome looking game. It's great that they'll seemingly be able to bring the game to consoles too!
Oh, Cool! There's a single player campaign too. I think I would definitely need that Tutorial as well! I gotta look into getting this game. I think me and my friends would really enjoy it.
