Surely you realize the hilarity of fearing that Silicon Knights will rush ANYTHING. (It's taken them the better part of fifteen years to put out two original games.)
I can't believe this is an indie game judging from how good it looks. Seriously I thought it was Sid Meier's Pirates! when I first saw it.
"According to filings with the SEC, former President and CEO David F. Zucker made over $4.5 million in the past two years. This includes over $3 million in stock options and sold stock. Since 2003, Zucker has made just under $11 million."
No matter how common this is, it's still pretty nuts that this guy got paid like four times as much as everyone else just to run the company into the ground.
If you listen closely you can actually hear Tomonobu Itagaki quietly weeping...like a nearby witch in L4D...or the distant ocean in a conch shell.
This is MONTHS old. Why is this on the front page?
I sincerely hope this thing doesn't become a serious gaming platform if only for the reason that I really don't want to have to buy another platform.
Yeah it's good that gaming is really in the actual Guinness Book rather than that ridiculous "Gaming Version" which featured records like "World's Hottest Video Game Babe"
lol Nintendo=pwned by above commenter. Bubbles up.
lol Not only did he not read the article, he didn't even read the synopsis.
I would agree, except that I don't think G4 could have known in advance how much traffic it would draw over silly little quibbles.
Clearly it's not since some of the most prominent people in the industry don't seem to understand.
I see what you did there at the end...clever lol.
This is a subject that needs to be talked about so much more. Games like Ninja Gaiden 2 and Gears of War 2 should be inexcusable.
Mags don't need to reinvent themselves, they just need to realize that websites can be just as profitable and give up on print.
If they really insist on staying in business, they should do reviews, and then strictly editorial that comments about the gaming culture and the extremely hardcore side.
EGM is going horribly wrong when they try to appeal to the common man. They need seriously hardcore content. Make it so good that you can't be a hardcore gamer without it.
Reviewers didn't pick up on it because reviewers get the game before there are millions online so they wouldn't know the online was flawed.
With problems like this there's no way for a company to know in advance that they can't handle the user load or that it wont work with millions trying at it.
Of course they should have done a beta but that's another dicussion.
So I mean, to be fair to them, they didn't ship an unfinished product KNOWINGLY.
I just wish Twizlex and Cookigaki would stop pretending they don't work at Ripten.
I didn't.
A fine comment, and a fine observation sir. Bubbles for you!
The porn industry will never need a bailout. They would thrive even if the apocalypse came.
