I am replying to the article.
i"s that it feels like it’s abandoned the kinds of software that fans have always valued most."
Sony is making deals for mostly single player games just as it always has.
And the argument that only games made by studios that Sony owns matter is beyond brain dead and i just look at all the games released on a console that isn't on the competitions.
You'd expect similar on xbox and switch but you aren't getting it. Without looking into it i just think hellblade 2, princess peach and paper mario is the only console exclusives that the competition has released and are selling less than the "niche" games on the playstation side.
Granblue relink
FF7 Rebirth
Helldivers 2
Rise of the ronin
Stellar blade
Concord
Astro bot
Silent hill 2
How is this years list not mostly games that a playstation fan would like?
My next day one purchase.
There are 5 exclusive games out so far this year. Concord, Astrobot and Silent Hill 2 left and could be more.
I don't know if they had more exclusives on the PS4 at year 4 but 8 exclusives is a good number.
While it would be great if it's 50 i don't think it should be expected to be below 60 or 70.
Especially since graphically similar and inferior games come out on the switch for 60 on a regular basis.
Apparently they are removing the 2 endings where you marry your father and your caretaker. And boob slider.
Reading that and seeing that thumbnail...do platform holders have to allow anything to be in a game?
From the article...
"Toys for Bob spun out as an indie back in February after Microsoft instituted sweeping layoffs that impacted 86 employees, which was more than half of the staff"
I doubt those 86 employees enjoyed the Microsoft experience over Activisions.
Doing a replay of astros playroom and it is still fun and charming. Love the nods to other series.
Pretty sure in the bratzs game you also finish off a boss by cutting off it's arms and impaling it to a wall. Both games are well know for their violence. 🙃🤣
These are chinese studios. And Antara devs made a mobile/Switch souls like before and Sony is helping move into the AAA console space. Kinda like they did with Stellar blade.
Maybe they made the deal months ago and maybe not. But there was hype for stellar blade months ago as well.
After the success of stellar blade Sony is jumping on these souls like games. Love the look and the combat style.
Astro is relatively new and they are capitalizing on the acclaim astros playroom got. But let's see if it leads to good sales.
Most of the old mascots got trilogies and the developers moved on to other things. And when insomniac goes back to their mascot(Ratchet), it doesn't really sell as well so it doesn't seem like it's in demand.
And nobody wants another knack...if they say they do, they are in it ironically or for the memes.
Antara and winds do look good and are getting overlooked. They are getting the same treatment as stellar blade and helldivers 2 when they were first announced because they are from unknown developers.
DWs are aways hype looking until you play the game and it gets repetitive fast. Demos have been enough for me since the PS2 era...but this one could good?
There's still summer games fest...it revealed last of us part 1, spider man 2 launch date, closed with rebirth last year and most definitely will have death stranding 2. So expect at least some first party there.
Interested in the 2 new cool looking souls type games, Dynasty Warriors and day 1 Astro Bot purchase. Rest was meh for me
I looked up to august and PS5 was 1st in revenue and sales since at least then.
The bulk of the money has to be coming from the 30% cut on all games and microtransactions. Especially on all the free to play juggernauts like genshin, apex, fortnight, etc.
Playstation made 30 billion last year with 700 million being from PC.
So it looks like it accounts for 3% of revenue...keep up the good work PC gamers. 🫡
Why is it that when an article says Software people don't count the THIRD-PARTY exclusives?
The begining of the article mentions the trifecta of announcements of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Shenmue 3, and The Last Guardian. One third party exclusive , one multiplatform and one first party.
So if the article talks about third party games why are you only mentioning First party?
