@Flawlessmic “ Wowwww!!!… I just finished the game about 40 mins ago and it was an absolute blast, literally blew my dick off.”

That’s not a selling point for me.

I interpreted it to mean that Pete Hines was frustrated that Bethesda games will no longer be on PlayStation whilst Call of Duty and Activision games would be. The Xbox blog post said that taking Activision games would be “undermining opportunities for Sony PlayStation users.”

After Bethesda was told to make its titles exclusive Pete Hines asked “why is the below is ok for COD or any Activision Blizzard games, but not TES6 or Starfield?” Meaning taking Starfield and TESVI f...

One key phrase “ All new games would launch "with subscription exclusivity" on Game Pass” This highlights that acquired games being kept multiplayer would have an advantage on Xbox by virtue of being given away ‘free’ on Game Pass. This demonstrates how long term Microsoft is aiming to win over the customers of its competitors.

@rlow1 The reporter is Tom Warren, the Verge’s dedicated Microsoft reporter who has repeatedly made clear he strongly prefers the Xbox platform over PlayStation. Microsoft often feed him exclusives before anybody else, such as Mixer being shut down, in return for a positive spin. In this case he is simply reporting the content of an email that Matt Booty sent where he said Microsoft should “spend Sony out of business” And because you don’t like that it paints Microsoft in a bad light YOU WANT...

Microsoft is honouring its pledge to embrace diversity by producing special edition consoles that will appeal to its core schoolgirl and LGBTQIA2S+ communities.

Phil Spencer has had expert-level media training and understands how what he says will be reported. If he was to say that 'Elder Scrolls wouldn't be coming to PS5' that would be instantly quotable and there would be pushback that Phil Spencer was responsible. Instead, he uses his words to indirectly answer the question. So when you take out the filler words his answer to the question of whether Elder Scrolls VI will be Xbox exclusive is: "Xbox is the whole experience... It’s ...

@Christopher. "This is like one of those prophecies, it can be interpreted many ways. He technically doesn't say ES6 would be exclusive, only".

I really like NMS, I bought it at launch and it’s come a long way. But it is a ‘small’ indie game (not said as a pejorative) where its scope covers space. So whilst setting is the same, Starfield is a much larger budget and scope open world RPG. So it’s a clumsy comparison.

Credit to No Man’s Sky as its resource gathering - land terraforming mechanic has obviously inspired that in Starfield. Also, the monoliths / ancients background narrative has some overlap with the core ...

This revelation that Starfield was originally intended for release on PlayStation is not a surprise, nevertheless its saddening to see it confirmed as it means when Phil Spencer said "This deal was not done to take games away from another player base like that" his contrary actions mean he was lying. He comes across as a friendly dude, he says the right thing that often chimes with the gaming press and public and they love his down to earth demeanour. I've always found him to be...

They may function like the radiant quests in Skyrim which can lead you to a cave with, for example, a vampire coven.

@rlow1 MrMattyPlays leads an Xbox-centric podcast, Defining Dukes, and is a massive fans of Bethesda games. After the Xbox Showcase he release a video sharing his thoughts on Starfield: https://youtu.be/yRRHC9riik... He was excited but he raised the issue of how does the player traverse massive planets if there's no ground vehicles?

So people discussing this are raising a valid question/criticism. I'm sur...

Sony has made the argument that Microsoft bought Bethesda/Zenimax and removed key titles from being released on the rival PlayStation platform. So this argument from Microsoft is shrewd because it means that despite Starfield and Redfall having their PS5 release cancelled, it DOES have plans to release games on PlayStation - they're just not ready for release yet!

Eurogamer refused to cover Hogwart’s Legacy.
It proclaims it cares for diversity yet up until two years ago had NEVER had a full time person of colour.
It slammed Kingdom Come for a lack of racial diversity at a time it had all white staff. It’s that arrogance and hypocrisy that I can’t stand.

From the Eurogamer review: “The world is also conspicuous for its ethnic homogeneity, which producer Naoki Yoshida has explained as a reflection of the "geograp...

Orchard: “Outrageous - no one else is increasing the price of their console and Sony could obviously afford to not do this.”

Hey Ben Sludge at The Gamer don’t buy things you can’t afford to keep. If you’re a professional games reporter or reviewer, just like plumbers need plungers, then all the main consoles are the tools of YOUR trade. Giving one up was a statement of allegiance to your preferred brand, nothing wrong with that if you’re a regular person - but if you’re ‘a professional’ that is a dereliction of duty.

Your request to be able to rent a PS5 ‘just for a little bit’ is a low key insul...

I read the headline and assumed this was like the frivolous class action against Microsoft that went nowhere. But this line immediately set off my spider sense: “In legal documents, Microsoft characterised the email as an “internal exchange” that should remain sealed; a Microsoft rep declined to comment further”.

It means Microsoft’s Matt Booty said something significant enough for Microsoft to acknowledge it -but fight to keep it redacted. I wonder what was said.

Yes, if Cloud Imperium had a finished game to release! At this rate there’s more chance of Stafield 2 releasing before Star Citizen. Maybe if people donate more money it can finish the game quicker…
