I'd go digital if the pricing of games came down. There is no physical disc so the cost of the discs and having them formatted for the game won't be there. So if you could buy digitally for $10 cheaper, then I would.

Didn't the PS4 have the blue light of death? Problems reading discs? The fan sounding like a jet engine? Each system has had it's issues on launch.
Both consoles are doing well. I expect the PS to do better due to the lower cost, but the X1 will do just fine. Eventually down the road both systems will come down in price just like the PS3 and X360 are the same price now. Don't forget, the PS3 launched at $600 and in the end still did fairly well.
Plenty of X1 users have had no issues. Obviously if someone has an issue they will be pissed off. Plenty of PS4 users had system issues Day 1. Luckily for you you have not had any problems. Pay more get less? Maybe in yours eyes when comparing hardware specs to hardware specs. The $500 is justified with the included Kinect which is valued well above $100, also the headset is far better then the PS provided ear buds. I'm very happy with my X1 so far and so are many others.
Get over the price already my god. Its been months and everyone knows the price. Stop crying about it being $100 more. Dont buy it then. Everyone knows ps4 is more powerful and cheaper. Known it for 6+ months. The extra $100 is for the kinect so if you dont like it, wait and hopefully and kinectless SKU will appear. Only people crying about the price seem to be PS owners. Lots of X1 owners didn't seem to mind and neither did MS judging by sales numbers.
When the game works, its good. When it doesn't, major pain in the ass. Game just crashes for no reason and sends you to dashboard, sound goes out when driving vehicles, and too many death when your behind cover and just die. Another issues, trying to join servers and says no commander available yet says 0/2 and I'm not even trying to join as a commander. Players take way to many bullets to die.
I love this controller. I thought the 360 was best controller but this has taken its place. Hats off to MS for taking something great and improving it.
You notice the majority are negative blogs and reports. If its Xbox related, only negative articles get posted or commented on. Forza got a 9/10, no Sony fans commented. Forza got a 6/10 on another site and had fifty plus comments. Its easier to grab attention and get responses when its negative.
A nightmare? Have you even played on an X1? Its a really good UI. The PS4 basically is an upgraded PS3 UI. I'm not even using the kinect and the controller works fine to navigate through the UI.

I played Forza other day and the other guy I was racing was using his kinect. I could hear him fine through my headset. I think there is an option in settings.

You do realize Apple's newest phone changed the charging connection so now you have to buy a new charging cable or an adapter to get your old one to work.
Eventually wireless headsets will come out so I don't see this being an issue. Stock X1 headset is much better than the ear bud PS4 you get.
Articles like they are annoying. If you don't want to, don't buy it. Killer Instinct, the full games is free with one character. If you want more character, buy them. You want different outfits, buy them. They aren't making you buy anything that's essential to them game.
But how is it any different from DLC? Where was the out cry for Forza 4 that had micro-transactions too? I can't remember which one, but I remember a Gran Turismo game that also featured about half as many cars as the previous game. Forza has always had a season pass.
