If you take the software in Japan into account…It looks like GTA5 on the PS4 was a large reason why PS4 hardware sales jumped in Japan. GTA 5 is the biggest selling PS4 title for the week in Japan (the only PS4 title to make the top 20 list) and it is a new release over there.

I dunno…Actually CREATE new gaming experiences instead of trying to BUY marketshare -- Examples: 1) CREATE new games instead of paying to keep them off other platforms… 2) CREATE new games to entice people to your platform instead of subsidizing cheaper and cheaper bundles
As it is now the vast majority of Microsoft owned IP that is out and/or coming out is sequels…Microsoft is CREATING very little in the way of new experiences.

From June 9, 2014 through October 31, 2014 both the Xbox One and PS4 were the same price ($399)…And the majority of Xbox One games were available (except Sunset and MCC)…PS4 was more preferred in all 5 months…True Story.

I think it will be hard for Xbox to keep winning NPD's into 2015…I think they'll loose 9-10 months of the year and try to make it up in the 2-3 last months of every year…The problem with 2015 specifically is that Microsoft doesn't have many blockbuster AAA games for the first 8-9 months of 2015. Thanks for stating who owns the search engine… People that specifically go to Microsoft's search engine will probably look up Microsoft devices far more often than people who go to search engines not owned by Microsoft
This round? It may finish the console war for good. If the Chinese people take to the Playstation ecosystem the way the rest of Asia or most of Europe does, that may get the majority of console Chinese gamers to go with Playstation long term

Xbox One may very well be doing better (not dominating like you said)…But the real question is: Will the Xbox One outsell the PS4 in Nov and Dec ENOUGH to make up for Jan-Oct??? And even then, one could argue that they would have to close the gap completely AND create an Xbox gap of their own since the 1st half of 2015 will probably belong to the PS4 again
