I'm still hopeful. Yes it's taken awhile but as long as the game is good, I won't be complaining. In fact, I hope the reason it is taking so long is because SE realizes this game will be the one that gets their fans trust back, or forever leaves a nasty stigma on the company and finalizes many peoples fears that SE no longer cares.
I feel even if Sony wants to do this, the rest of the world is just not up to par with internet connection yet. Gaikai is great news for Sony, but atm should only be used in addition to retail games and consoles. The world isn't ready for full streaming games just yet.
FFT overrated? Never. To this day it remains a classic game loved by srpg enthusiasts. It is without a doubt the game that I have spent the most hours on. The gameplay is highly addicting in regards to unlocking new jobs and abilities, and the story deals with very mature themes and lovable characters.
The very thought of being in a real life Boletaria scares the hell out of me.
I'm just absolutely begging for some Jrpg characters. Pleeease. Give us a Dart, Ashley Riot, Cloud, Sephiroth,or any FF character! The Wanderer would be awesome to see too!
Sony may be losing money on their other divisions such as Tv's n such, but their gaming division is one of the most profitable, and they have already said they aim to focus on the Playstation brand even more.
"While microsoft is making kinect" Most people don't like kinect bro. As a core gamer I, and many others, laugh at it.

Not worried about this any time soon. Though, I will be happy if mobiles manage to take the casual "gamers" out of the industry.

the point is that even if Sony had to close more divisions, as one of it's more profitable ones, i'm sure they would shift focus to support the gaming division even more. Yes, I want Sony to do well as a whole, but as a gamer i'm mostly concerned with their gaming division and I have no fears about Playstation not being around in the future.
Point is, the reason PS3 couldn't do cross game chat is because of memory limitations (because the 512 mb was split into two 256 parts)
The Vita can do it so obviously the PS4 will do it.
No, he is a popular Playstation Mascot in Japan only. I think it's kind of a fun character to include and for sure will be a hit in Japan! Still want some Jrpg heroes though xD

Seriously though, all this talk about Sony being d00med and facing financial difficulties is really annoying. As a company yes they are facing trouble, but as said in the article the gaming division is one of the more profitable parts of the company. That being said I laugh when people say "there will be no PS4, Sony can't afford it". yeah okay /s.
I want good things for the vita for sure. Though I am still waiting to get one till more games i'm interested come out. Thing is the Vita is never going to dominate 3ds sales. BUT THAT IS OKAY. The PS3 never dominated Wii sales but to the hardcore gamer (which is all I really care about) It's the console of choice.
As long as the Vita can provide the core gamer with awesome games in the palm of their hands, and manage to make a profit, then it will be successful.
It's hardly even an argument at this point. x-game chat is the ONLY thing I can see someone defending live with. Even the free version of PSN trumps live. Someone literally said "how can PS+ be better when more people are willing to pay for live"

As long as there is a decent jrpg character or two i'll be happy.Pretty much any FF lead. I think Noctus from FFVS13 would be great since FFVS13, despite how long it's taken is still supposed to be a ps3 exclusive and it would be a nice little peak at him till the game comes out.
The wanderer from SOTC, Dart from Legend of dragoon, Sora from KH, or even Caim/Nowe from the Drakengard series!

the game looks like it's shaping up quite well and I wish it all the best but honestly i'm not too interested in playing it unless there are some characters that I really care about. For me that would be jrpg characters :p
A Kojima/Naughty Dog game would be scary good ._.
