I believe it was said that their loading/streaming system used to GET said visuals consistently high throughout levels was one of the main hindrances, as only X amount of the level is loaded at a time.
If you didn't work on the game, don't assume. It's NEVER as simple as "just tossing it in," trust me.
Word Jinx. I totally agree with you.
I see Games for Windows LIVE getting a few new titles announced this E3, including Fable 2 and Gears of War 2.
FFXIII in 2010... and a year or two later the next gen of consoles? Wow, ONE FF game this entire generation... sad. It better be the greatest JRPG of all time is all I'm saying.
As I said, people toss around the terms fail and flop WAY too easy in this day and age. I think this also goes to show that people more than ever want INSTANT gratification and are afraid to work for anything, be it creating a great level, seeing the final boss, etc.
There's a difference between wanting to see the chain disappear, and wanting to see them held accountable for their questionable and often outright BS policies/ways. And yes, I'm a former employee too! The point stands, many things Gamestop does is just wrong for the consumer and often times the developer too, but they get record profits, so who cares?!
So no, I will not "stfu" thank you very much.
I'll make the time, but my backlog is huge. 40 hours of work (or more with crunch) plus social life = little time to game sadly. I think where I notice it most is in the online competitive titles, which I have little to no time for. I'd love to pour hours into Warhawk or KZ2 or UT3, but there's just no time to spend as much time as I'd like.
The first reason is the custom case. The second is because they CAN.
Wow... Vader cracked. Kinda funny.
Of course you can shop around, but the basic MSRP is still an insult.
Also true. I think that should be something the big 3 do when preparing their new consoles, listen to the developers more, as they are the ones... you know, doing the developing.
Each title has its pros and cons visually. Those comparison shots really show how Uncharted dominates in the lighting, fx, and character modeling. But Uncharted also suffers from screen tearing and some framerate hiccups. Gears as a whole really feels cohesive with some spiffy postprocessing, I just wish the bullshots weren't so doctored up. In the end however, both games are amazing, so we gamers should feel lucky to be able to enjoy both, no?
Aw, baby phantom disagrees. Man up ...
Gears took an undeveloped concept seen only in a few games prior, and built a solid system around it. Coupled with the U3 engine, which at the time was brand new, and it definitely made the game stand out. I picked it up for the PC and enjoyed it. It was like a summer movie, light and fun action fare that focused the most on gameplay. Couldn't get into MP however, though co-op rocks.
Kudos to Epic (not MS, give credit where its due) for bringing a solid new IP this generation. T...
Damn, I would have loved a TPS personally.
Some people just can't stand stupidity. And rightly so.
This is one of those titles that has been in production for so long I just don't give a damn about it any more.
Thing is, none of the consoles are going anywhere or "dying," period. I don't care what the market share of each console is, as I don't own stock. What I care about is the games, and that is being delivered to me in spades.
It's sad that "gamers" today argue stats and numbers more than talking about the games themselves.
The attempts to play up a PS3 error by labeling it a knockoff of a MAJOR Xbox 360 issue is laughable.
It will never touch God of War... but if its a great, fun game, then I shall enjoy it. (Just like DMC ---> Bayonetta!)
Companies say a lot of things. Doesn't mean it's always going to happen/not happen.
