I too, would love to see new franchises or old ones revisited by Kojima. I love MGS, but 4 ended on the perfect note. Step away for a few years, then come back with a new universe if you must... but don't oversaturate this one please. Bring us some Snatcher or ZOE3!
Same goes for Bungie, I wanna see what ELSE they can do! They have the talent!
Question is... why is the game worse a year later as you seem to imply?
I'd say grab the PS2, since its uber-cheap, and hold off for the PS3 price cut in the fall. (If that doesn't happen I'll be VERY surprised)
Please a trophy patch for MGS4 proper. I can't say I'm into MGO... UC2 took the third person crown for me with that killer beta.
Lost Odyssey I'm guessing? Yeah I wanted to check that out, but honestly not enough to spend $260 on it. Besides, I still have Rogue Galaxy, Persona 3, Persona 4, and even SMT3 Nocturne to finish. :-(
Why do you care where people's money goes?
While I can't speak for other posters, for me it was never about not giving MS my money... it was about not seeing a reason to invest in a system where I can get games elsewhere. Elsewhere, being a system I already own and a great PC. Not everyone has a great PC, obviously, but for me, a 360 would be a redundant purchase.
I don't know why people take that as an insult to their gaming preference, or MISREAD it as "the ...
Interesting. If so, I'll pick it up.
I'll purchase, own, and enjoy all 4... as well as Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.
Fanboys lose.
Quiet Rami.
MGS is known for its trademark humor, Hollywood homage and inherent "silliness." To ask the series to drop some of its defining characteristics is a bit... I dunno... pointless to me.
We know almost nothing about it, so I don't know what to expect. But I have faith in that team.
HD and Covenant, you guys rock. Bubbles up!
LOL. Some gorgeous level design, both technically, aesthetically, and in functional layout... and now "too much detail" is a bad thing?
LOL. GG.
I think it's a huge deal, but PERSONALLY I'd rather see it used in other applications/interfaces. For my gaming needs, motion controls aren't what I'm interested in. Natal and Sony's lil wand are just too gimmicky to me.
In the end, it's all about final application... tech is only as good as the final product. I remember the dreams/promises of OnLive as well. I will remain skeptical (but excited for the prospects) until its in MY living room.
The true irony is you bash PS3 fanboys for their "media conspiracy theories," yet here you are tossing out one of your own.
Funny.
You think people would learn about opinions and get sick of the whole "my toy is better than your toy because I like my toy more" bit.
Opinions are like assholes...
I still don't get how someone wins this thing? Isn't the point to please your fans? If you as a gamer are happy with the titles YOU have available to you this year, didn't YOU win?
Corporate cheerleading, worst part of this generation.
That's why Metacritic is sh1t.
Please, if you want to play this game, play it. Don't let some arbitrary review number tacked on to someone's opinion deter you from checking out a game you are interested in.
Reviews are biased by nature. It's funny how in one review, "blandish graphics" would be a death knell...but here is basically shrugged off.
People need to start playing what they want to play and worrying less about arbitrary scores.
I doubt it will be, if you are talking qualitywise. This is a great team. I'm upset at the inclusion of the supernatural still, but I can't wait for this game.
