You aren't missing much. I can safely say its the worst movie I've ever had the displeasure of seeing.
I don't believe online play has even been discussed about MGSR yet. Anything about it currently is nothing more than conjecture.
I hope this makes its fall release, would love to play this right after Arkham... then transition into Bayonetta, Darksiders, and finish off with God of War 3.
What I'm saying is, it's a fallacy to suggest that the titles he listed, MGS4 and LBP, are the ONLY titles that are really "subject to personal opinion and preference." I'm saying, ANY title is like that, not just those listed. Halo, Gears, Mario, Zelda, Uncharted, Ratchet... EVERY title is subject to personal opinion. To single out the titles he listed is sloppy, poor writing and a bit of a joke. It assumes that there are titles out there that aren't left up to personal preference....
"The problem is that all of the listed titles are subject to personal opinions and game type preferences."
Game "journalism" just hit an all time high on the stupidity factor. Holy jesus. Newsflash - EVERY game is subject to personal opinions and preferences. Someone telling me a game is "AAA material" doesn't mean jack crap to me if I don't enjoy it personally.
God... who writes this crap?
Just scared? How about slightly disappointed? Halo ended at a solid place. MGS ended at a great place. FF sequels aren't connected. I'm disappointed, personally, because Bungie is super talented, and I respect them a ton. Same with Kojima Productions. And because of that, I want to see what ELSE these guys can do. Leave MGS and Halo alone for a while, then come back with new stories, characters, reboots, whatever. IMHO, of course. I'd kill to see Bungie's take on a platformer or RPG, or Kojim...
2.7 is not "bad numbers," especially for a new IP.
It's pretty shocking that the US isn't the only country in the world.
Indeed. I always wished that newer consoles would really push old games to even greater levels. I'm not really worried about PS3/360 titles performing better... but original Xbox? Gamecube? PS2?
I'm curious about this new tech, if true, as games are designed with very specific architecture in mind. Some level of emulation would have to be going on. Either way, I don't care HOW it's done... seeing games like God of War (hell, even Gears of War!) with 16x AA would be a godsend.
I love how "logic" constitutes selective viewing/analysis.
Sucks that Bravo is right. NO game on the PS3 looks as good as Prototype. Not Uncharted 2, nor Killzone 2, nor God of ... oh wait...
I really wish the next gen editions had freakin splitscreen story coop. Man, feels like almost everyone is gettin shafted somehow with this game.
I'm tempted to DL this... but with the GOTY edition hitting in the fall, with all the DLC on the disc I might hold off.
That didn't take long at all. Second post. Good for you Sak.
Well the original concept was to play up the Kyle/Marcus relationship more, and make Connor the dual side of Skynet, an unseen force/icon/symbol that controls/moves this world.
A lot of scenes between the two of them were removed, and personally I feel, Connor has had 2 movies already which is plenty. Focusing on Kyle wouldn't be a bad thing, especially with the original intended ending and Marcus having a sacrifice that actually hits an emotional beat.
But all this ...
I think the concept of John Connor being just a voice on the radio until the end is great. I think shoehorning in more screentime for a character that has little to no effect on the plot was a mistake, as it robs both Marcus and Kyle of any kind of real development.
I think the original script was flawed, but had some nice ideas. I think what we got was utter trash.
His Bruce Wayne/Batman is great. His Patrick Bateman is the best.
But I can't stand arrogant actors who think they can just come in and redo everything as they see fit. Hollywood is going down the tubes faster and faster, and its unfortunate.
Good. After what he did with rewrites to Terminator Salvation (making a meh movie with a cool twist utter summer trash) he shouldn't be let near this series.
We really don't know anything, but I have faith in the studio that brought us 2008's GOTY. I'd love a stealth version of DMC, a melee only MGS.
Can't wait to see what happens, but would really have prefered ZOE3 or Snatcher to be quite honest. MGS4 ended the series on a perfect note. Start a NEW MGS universe (Solid and Liquid, comrades?!) instead of stretching out this one. IMHO, course.
Give Quantum splitscreen coop... then we'll talk.
