Games will always be limited by time, budget, and hardware. Next gen will have a lot of the same issues this one has. There's also a thing called choice.... Why waste mem on draw distance when you can have higher near field fidelity/assets?
It was never cell shaded though. People are making up a game they never even saw footage from.
Rfom is the poster boy for generic looks. People should try playing things before judging.
Vanquish used the same system, and many people skipped it. Shame really.

How is it ruining anything? I love MGS, but Kojima is synonymous with retcon.
"Lets see.....oh I know because they turned it from a bright, colourful pixar looking fun co-op game with funny, witty characters with awesome styles to a boring looking, generic, typical third person shooter with a flat story. "
With all due respect... what game did YOU see? There was a trailer for Overstrike, no gameplay. There was no genre even shown! The shaders used were all very realistic, with characters that were SLIGHTLY exaggerated. Borderlands design it w...
Insomniac wants to own their IPs from here on out though. Becoming first party negates that.
Totally. Balance is key. I definitely think we need more developers talking about their work, instead of leaving it up to politicians!
I think the problem is that they never emphasize the emotions behind taking another person's life- just the high.
I disagree. Aerith, The Boss, heck even the Colossi in SotC. Games deal with the implications and emotions of death all the time - problem is the people who do the talking about games ignore these aspects because 1) they don't play games 2) it doesn't fir their agenda to demonize games.
Respectfully - Our government IS out of hand. The second amendment and those who tout it's necessity have not stopped our government from passing things like the Patriot Act, making corporations people, letting wallstreet destroy our economy, ignoring the will of the people, etc.
The foolish part is thinking any "battle" with the government will be one of arms - owning guns has not stopped them from walking over citizens. I think the talking point of "our ...
No voice chat fix for consoles? I'd argue that's the number 1 issue with the game right now, and that makes this patch pretty useless IMHO. I love this game, but Dice really needs to fix this issue asap.
Or we could do away with scoring and make them use their big boy words to describe the game... just a thought.
BLUEPOINT Games ported this, as they did GoW and Ico.... not Kojima Productions. "Journalism" my ass.
Well said Alpha. Methinks its time for review scores to go, as I've been saying for years. They've become so perverted in their use and meaning, they have become pointless.
LightofDarkness, kudos. That was a well said post.
"Is that COD's fault..or is it the developers' fault for not having the balls to create their own vision?"
It's just as much the consumers fault as it is the developers IMHO, both are to blame. People forget that money talks. If so many people want CoD, clearly they like what it does, so why would you design something different, when so few support it? This is still business.
This proves that exclusives really do matter.
Yeah but especially on this site, that argument flipflops depending on what the popular game of the moment is...
How would you review something like The Usual Suspects then? Are you saying that seeing the first half of it is enough to make a judgment?
I work 40 - 90 hour weeks. I pay my bills. I hit the gym. I find time to socialize, and continue working on my art in both 2d and Maya. And I'm an avid gamer.
Yup. I'M in trouble. Thanks news!
Shame that a Beta is now frowned upon for being a Beta, and not a marketing tool. Gamers today are silly.
I just miss weapons on the map. No perks. No load outs. No unlocks outside of cosmetics or skill rankings. Just you, the map, and your enemies on even terms. Sigh. Good ole days.
