Theres a rumor going around that MS changed its stance already. Since its positive, its clearly now a fact.

Damn the Patriots!
"some games being shown will do wonders too"
Sleight of hand baby. Show the people something shiny on the right while stomping on their rights on the left. Classic.
I think it'll come down to where people's friends are, as both consoles will have 90% of the same titles.
This is a non-answer. Again, if the Xbone or PS4 won't let me, free of charge, loan my games to my friends - it's a nonstarter for me. The console fanboy wars are masking the absolutely ridiculous practices next gen is looking to slam us all with.
Totally jokes. People are so caught up in the "my console your console" thing they don't see the bigger issue coming.... Oh god, gaming has become just like politics!
Cool idea... But too early. No game can 100% rely on it unless its always online. Hopefully simcity taught everyone a lesson.
My concerns lie with yours, what does this mean for nextgen DRM in general? What hits MS is sure to hit Sony thanks to massive publisher control, and if I can't share my games with friends free of charge (I buy a lot of games they can't), then its total BS.
Movies, music, everything else has become more streamlined. Gaming is becoming a nightmare, and no one is stepping back to figure out the actual problem. Sigh.
Thank god I have 10 more current gen...
What about the guy who thinks the show was awful, but that doesn't mean the console will necessarily be awful?
I know you can be overwhelmed, and I know you can be underwhelmed... but can you ever just be... whelmed?
"Pretend E3 just went by and MS announced 40 hardcore exclusive titles and proved xbox one to be an amazing gaming device, do you really this hate will stop persisting?"
I think the lack of games isn't the entire issue here. I think a combination of issues depending on who you are - a huge focus on Kinect, television integration, unrelated tv series, anticonsumer practices, used game fees, games tied to accounts, lack of BC all add up to one hell of a mess. If y...
Is Gaf full of PS fanboys too? Twitter? Are indie devs PS fanboys? Jim Sterling? N4G isn't the only place this sentiment exists. The show was a joke and set a horrible precedent, after months of "just wait and see." We waited. We saw. Many did not like what they saw. The practices currently are anti-consumer and ridiculous. And if Sony puts the same ones into practice, that proves its not just MS that has lost focus on gamers next gen.
Because its impossible for a regular gamer who prefers the Xbox to be disappointed. Clearly MS can do no wrong, right?

Software_Lover - I think it could be awesome too. I love the mythology, I just find it odd that games and concrete hardware specs were glossed over for a TV series and fantasy football, that's all.
Im curious why they had time to tell us about a Halo TV series, but not the specs of the machine during this hardware reveal.
Was addressing developers also a "desperate move" by Sony?
As gamers, we're only "part of the audience" if we choose to be. It's clear Sony and MS have different goals in mind.
It was more of a box reveal. They didn't mention anything indepth about the specs.
"What Microsoft did was get the boring stuff out of the way," - you mean they got all the anti-consumer BS out of the way. Next gen looks to be a nightmare with regards to consumer rights.
This is right up there with "rumble is last gen." Sad.
Light scattering does happen. What you're seeing in the shot are typically referred to as god rays though. They come from one of two points, the sun, or the point in the sky opposite, not perpendicular.

This is basically a rookie mistake or an artist embellishment in the screenshot.
If my buddy can't earn trophies on his account from a game I loaned him, free of charge, once again... Totally anticonsumer and truly ridiculous.
I truly feel bad for cosumers who buy the system and have no online access. Hopefully stores clue people in that online is required.
