Same as when I had my Wii U and there was that supposed first HUGE update. Took my Wii U less than 25mins to download...and this is on a college residence where there's lots of people using the internet!! On top of that I live in Canada where supposedly our internet bandwidth and cell service is always way behind US in terms of speed and new tech

Don't knock it till you try it. This isn't some made up story but my buddy was a hardcore Sony guy and he finally went out and thought he'd try the Xbox 360 this year and he says he's been playing it more than his PS3 lately. He says Xbox Live is worth paying for.

Well just think, maybe they're saying they have nothing to fear because, they too, have a similar vision of the future of gaming. These consoles are supposedly gonna be a lot more alike this time around than they ever were.
Maybe that's why. Microsoft knows they took it easy the last couple years and I believe this was to focus all resources towards the launch and post launch (lets say 1-1.5years post launch). That's why I think we haven't seen many exclusives...
Actually you see this a lot in many different companies outside of games and tech. Car manufacturers are one example, some don't even bother to be worried about their most direct competitors. GM for example didn't do much updating to their trucks over the last 6 years other than expected powertrain upgrades and didn't focus on it's most direct competitor Ford F150 and how the F150 was being created into a much better truck.

You're somewhat right. A sales pitch involves a conversation between two people where someone can ask you a lot of questions about your product, and have you answer all of their questions. Not knowing the price of the console by E3 would be a mistake IMO.
There will always be subscription based online play, but I can see it shifting to more of an offering that Sony is going to have with PS4.
One thing I can say for sure the BS microsoft points stuff is gone...they've already said they are phasing that out I thought?
It's no use, unless you actually understand Business or are taking a degree in business (me), everyone will continue to disagree.
I don't think Sony is in huge trouble, but they definitely aren't the company that all these gamers think they are. You can tell them something and they still won't believe you. Analysts and investors are right to worry a bit about investing in Sony because it obviously is a bit of an inconsistant company as of late.
I must say, I think Sony has actually done a REALLY good job in leading up to E3 and the eventual release of the PS4. From a pure Business and Marketing perspective Sony is doing a great job in just continuing the conversation with people about their console and why it is so great. Even though some of the things have already been talked about, keeping that audience retention at a maximum is going to really work out for them.

You kidding me, I don't own a PS3 but I've played a lot of Killzone over the years with my best buddy who always had PS2 and PS3 so I was always playin it with him.
Clearly you've never played Killzone before as it is as much of a copy of CoD as Smartcar is to a Ferrari.
The two are totally unrelated save for the fact that they are both FPS and have a single player and multiplayer component.

This is such a silly statement. All they did was acknowledge the PS4 is happening and reveal a bunch of specs and show demos.

I am not a CoD head but whatever! I don't see how having Xbox 360 controllers could possibly only be good for shooters. I'd be really pissed off if these triggers on the PS4 controller still don't have enough of a concave surface for them to work well and be comfortable for long periods of play! The PS3 controller seemed like it was gonna be awesome but it was terrible and nobody wants to use R1 in shooters. It just doesn't make sense to be playing ...

I 100% agree with the triggers slide. Until I get my hands on a controller I won't really know but it seems they still aren't quite up to snuff. Xbox 360 controller triggers are triggers done perfectly.
I meant before. Hardly anyone called it Orbis. Everyone calls the next Xbox, Durango or 720.
