And it's no surprise that some will go beyond that and try to just be jerks, too. It happens. It's easy to escape, though. Scuttle the ship and you respawn somewhere else. Simple.
I've never gone longer than 20-30 minutes without seeing somebody, and it's not uncommon to see multiple ships at once, or within a few minutes of each other.
It's so random it is hard for them to control it too much. If everyone gets grouped up in one part of the map the other side would seem empty I'm sure.
Comparing this game to No Mans Sky is not really fair.
This game has actual missions to do, and the the whole point of the game is multiplayer, something NMS didn’t have.
Say what you want about the repetitive nature of the missions and the fact that everything you can buy is cosmetic only. Those are fair complaints. They don’t really bother me, however, because the repetitiveness of the mission structure is overcome by the pure randomness of everything...

I can't speak for anyone else, but if the next consoles were announced tomorrow and Microsoft said "all of our games will also be on Playstation" I would still buy both consoles.
I prefer the Xbox controller and everything else about the xbox ecosystem. I don't buy Xbox for exclusives, I buy it to play all games, except those that are only on PS of course.
I'm also for increased background checks and longer waiting periods.
But mostly, I'm for increased punishment. People are caught with illegal weapons every day and barely locked up. That's why cities like Chicago are a mess.

There is a very simple solution to this that apparently people haven't figured out yet.
If you respawn and find them just waiting to kill you again, you go into your menu and there is an option to scuttle the ship.
Your ship sinks, and you and the ship respawn in another location, with nobody there to mess with you.
So yes, they thought of this problem, and had a solution for it. It's works fine.
There is matchmaking, so you could be in a group, too.
If you choose to be alone, you're missing most of the fun, even if you do avoid getting attacked.

I know I was just trying to point out that people always tag articles incorrectly.
I report them all the time but nobody every bothers to correct them.
I use an RSS feed to see the headlines for each console, and it drives me nuts when my Xbox Feed has articles in it that have nothing to do with Xbox.
