@morganfell
You said they should entice people to participate instead of punishing them for not participating. That's exactly what this is.
I think the distinction of this being a "punishment" for not playing online as opposed to being a "reward" for playing online is all in your head.
If you play online, apparently you earn perks for doing so.
If you don't, you don't.
You c...
You can get a 2 TB on amazon for like 80 bucks.
Not to mention you are then limited in size.
You can use 2 4 TB external drives this way, plus the 500 GB internal.
Good luck finding an 8.5 TB drive to fit inside the console.
Even if you never swap drives it's going to have more capacity than the largest drive you can actually fit inside a PS4. That is the problem with internal. It has to FIT.
I could get two 4TB drives right now, they'll take up a little space on the shelf, but that's it. I don't forsee a small enough 8 TB drive coming along that will fit inside a PS4.
Yes it really is.
People make jokes about being "too lazy" to get off the couch and change a disc, but that isn't the point. It's about time and convenience.
Being able to switch to and from every game in your entire library instantly is HUGE. At least for me, as I buy a lot of games and keep them.
I have almost 200 Xbox 360 games on shelves in a closet, which happens to be in my basement. I don't mind running downsta...
Yes, I'm stoked for this. I'm already 100% digital with everything, so this will make my life much easier.
And by a stroke of luck I already have a 3TB USB 3.0 drive ready to go!!
You can snap and unsnap without Kinect. There is a dedicated panel for it right on the home screen.
Other shortcuts can be found by using the "menu" button on an app.
Recording can be done manually via the Game DVR app.
That's all fine and good, but shouldn't my remaining 40 GB that I am DOWNLOADING be in the DOWNLOADS list??
It makes no sense to me at all. I want to see what it is being downloaded, so I go to a specific list that contains all downloads, and it isn't there anymore because it is partially done. That seems dumb to me.
The fact that there is a way to go find it somewhere else isn't my point. All I said is that it isn't where it seems lik...
Not to mention this is only Dish, and only with the Hopper.
The XB1 can work with anything that outputs over HDMI.
I have Charter cable and a TiVo DVR, for instance.
I really hate how the downloads list only shows the portion of the game required to start playing. That is the stupidest idea I've ever heard.
There is no excuse for not showing the entire game's size in that list, and just notifying you when it is ready to launch.
That is how XB1 does it. The progress bar and percentage represent the entire game, INCLUDING PATCHES, then you get a notification when it is ready to launch.
Neither...
That's because you don't have an Xbox One. lol
You're missing out on a number of great next gen games.
Agreed. The article is terrible and basically says nothing at all.
I hate headlines that start with the word "Why" anyway, but at least most of them discuss the topic mentioned in the headline. This one doesn't even so much as mention it.
"now it's just games left"
And who would want to play great games, right???

In fairness, that's not really an accurate comparison, as one of those products could be shipped and received tomorrow while the other won't be released for three weeks.
I don't think we'll see how the sales of each will truly balance out until they are both out in the wild and neither of them requires a wait.
Graphics were better, obviously.
Everything else was worse. Characters, story, gameplay, powers, environment, side missions... All of it sucked.
I can't decide if it was mediocre or outright bad. It's very weak compared to the first two for sure.
lmao
Nobody is that desperate.
I've actually been thinking about this.
As little as I use them, I think I might start turning my PS3 and PS4 off completely, rather than leaving them in standby.
I wouldn't do that with my xbone, as I do use the voice commands a ton, and it gets used every single day, even if only for TV.
I can't believe all the people saying that inFAMOUS:SS is the best new game.
Have you not played the first two inFAMOUS games?
Second Son is awful compared to them. No real side missions, a bunch of samey powers instead of a wide variety of different ones, terrible characters, boring story... It's honestly a bad game.
I'm the biggest inFAMOUS fan out there, but that game is awful.
On topic, yes, the Xbox On...
In reference to your "removing advertised functionality" comment:
Online gameplay is governed by a terms of use agreement that you need to accept. As long as that agreement mentions this scenario then they aren't doing anything wrong.
You break the rules and you get punished. I applaud them for attempting to put a stop to this sort of thing.
