That's partly true. All this premium-content bull-c**p on PC is what's driving quite a lot of gamers towards torrents. MS is clearly mistaken if they think the PC gamers are exactly the same as Xbox gamers. They're not. They're a different type of crowd and so, should be handled in a different way.

Y'know, I generally dislike stereotyping, but I have to agree with you to an extent. While I'm tired of musclebound steroid-freaks as heroes in a game, I'm also sick of protagonists who look like Boy George fans with weird hairdos. Why can't there be a middle-ground somewhere? Like someone who looks normal aka Max Payne 1 or some such.

It's not too surprising. When AC1 came out, I kept thinking "This feels almost exactly like PoP sans the wall-run and time-control". And in AC2, especially during the seal-collecting puzzles.
The thing is, they need to keep these two franchises as different as possible. Otherwise, they just might end up being the same damn game with just different names. Thus, I'm sincerely hoping they don't copy over anything from AC2 to this game.
What we have to understand is that not every gamer is an achievement freak who tries to always do the impossible. Many people play games just to relax rather than compete with some insane difficulty level. If we take out the level options, we'd end up with lots of grumbling casual gamers. Oh, and I believe it'll be very difficult to perfect the 'auto-adjust' system, thus making it more of a hindrance rather than help.
That is exactly what I've been saying. The last game was garbage compared to the standards that the trilogy set. I was kinds hoping this new game could bring back that authentic PoP feel from the SoT series. But if the review is to be believed, I guess Ubisoft is gonna have to worry about a lot more than just piracy.
Exactly. Piracy is just a safety net for their PR when their games flop on the PC. Their policy is - "If it sells, milk it. If it bombs, blame piracy." BTW, Gears 1 sucked. And I'm willing to bet the sequel is more or less the same. Epic can stick with 360 and keep on milking the Gears franchise for all I care.

Loss in sales does not automatically mean piracy. Just because a guy doesn't buy a game doesn't automatically indicate that he has pirated the game. It is very possible that many people didn't buy the game and didn't pirate it either.

Actually, the OS uses less than 1GB of RAM and hardly more than 10% of CPU power. So, in a system having a Quad Core CPU and 4GB RAM coupled with something like a GTX260 or better, the OS doesn't exactly cause resource-shortage.
