I know Natalie Portman is a good actress, but I'm not convinced she can perfectly pull of a Jack-persona. Just like Denzel might not be perfect as Captain Anderson although he's a great actor. Acting chops are the most important factors but for a game-movie adaptation like Mass Effect, the physical aspects of the character has to be taken into account too. Like if DiCaprio was to be Shepard. He's an amazing actor, but for those of us who've played the game, he doesn't quit...
Matthew Fox as Shepard would be interesting. Better than hiring a non-actor.
Seth Green as Joker is a no-brainer. Voice-actor + professional actor = Win.
Have yet to see Yvonne Strahovski in films, so I'm not 100% sold yet.
Not sold on Denzel as Captain Anderson either. Dennis Haysbert might be a better pick.
Natalie Portman as Jack? No. There's got to be another choice.
Anyway, shouldn't this be based on the first game? If so, then...
When they said "Deluxe Edition", did they mean "Draconian DRM Edition"?
WOW! This looks cool....*sees publisher's name*.....er, no thanks, I'll pass.
It's still the same game as NBA Live 08 with roster updates. Whoever gets fooled by this little ploy is probably better off playing Yahtzee.
I'm really starting to NOT like Intel right now. What the fudge is up with them holding off Project Offset?(they were working on it, right?)
"If Mega Man 10 gets more votes than either God of War 3 or Heavy Rain I will officially stop giving a shit what websites say altogether."
Is this a proper article or an opinion-piece blog? This guy needs to calm down. IGN isn't the only website giving out GOTY awards. There will be plenty of others giving GOTY nominations to GOW3 and Heavy Rain, I assure you.
The sad part is that certain COD fanboys will think this game invented helicopter-flying in FPS games.
Yet another self-proclaimed "hardcore" gamer who thinks he is the standard against which all other gamers are measured. "If you haven't played this game like I did, then you're not a true gamer....blah blah...I'm so 1337...blah blah..."
Games You've Played if You’re a Hardcore Gamer - Any game/games you've put a lot of time and effort into. Nuff said.
I don't think the problem is with the casting, or whose accent sounds like so and so. I think the problem is with the mediocre story and less-than-interesting script. Jordan Mechner tried too hard to get away from the game story and the film paid the price for it. Boring dialogues, jokes that aren't funny and generally uninspired acting from the lead actors didn't help either.
Hmm...very few spotters? I always thought spot was one of the more interesting aspects of the game. I enjoyed spotting, whether it's for myself or my teammates. People really need to start spotting more. It's much more useful than most would think.
I'm starting to get really nervous that this won't meet the expectations set by the first game in the visual department. After all the scans we've been getting, I'm still not sold enough that this will top it's predecessor on the PC version. But I'll go the sensible way and keep my fears in check until I play the game myself.
BTW, I think that 'Sniper Rifle' they're referring to is actually the Gaussian Rifle from the first game. I might be...
And what would that 'point' be? That he's voicing his opinion as though it's fact? That in his own little world, people play only Killzone 2? That he's obsessed with the game and has to bring it up in every damn article about shooters??
Can you believe this line was his excuse?
"I just don't get what all the fuss was about."
Umm...yeah, he might not get it, but millions of others did, apparently. And you're right, he definitely hated CSS because he sucked at it.
Reading through all his excuses, the author sounds like a crappy gamer. He hates games because he's either stuck at some level or other players pwn him to death. Thus he decides to rant about it...
CD Projekt definitely deserves support. The first game was a big surprise. It was new, ambitious and intriguing to say the least. This sequel looks promising again, and it's nice to know they're putting PC first in development. I just hope they don't go the greedy route and start feeding us half-hearted console ports like almost everyone else is doing these days.
I agree with Tomb Raider and these (Insert Musical Instrument)-Hero games. Add COD to the list as well, it's just rehash after rehash.
But I think the original Tom Clancy franchises can still come up with a few surprises.
I'll admit, I enjoyed COD4. But MW2 was overhyped and overrated IMO. And believe it or not, I would've been just a little bit curious about Black Ops had it been made by the original IW team. But seeing as it's Treyarch, well I'll pass. They should've created their own IP 5 years ago. But they chose to play second-favorite to IW in the COD milking business. So now, they're stuck with a tired and overdone franchise and they've only got themselves to blame. The only ...
"The study shown that 18% of men said they preferred the video game over the sex, whilst the other 82% said otherwise."
Only 18%? The title had me thinking it was more like 90%... Sounds like the author is desperate for hits.
You've never even played Crysis, have you? The gameplay elements are so much more diverse than Halo, and believe me, I've played all 3 of them. The problem is that many people thought it was gonna be a generic run-n-gun game, but it wasn't. What many don't realize is that there is much more to Crysis than "Cloak Engaged".
I really starting to get sick of muscle-headed protagonists who look like they're about to O.D. on steroids. Max Payne was fine the way he was. There is absolutely no need to try and turn him into another Marcus Fenix. At this rate, by the 5th game, he'll have dialogues like "ARRRRHH! Max smash puny humans. Max angry. RAWRRRR!"
