Hard disagree.
They’re spending almost $100B in the least two years to take games away from other platforms. They darn well better be doing something to get people exited after this kind a desperate final lunge to survive in the market. It’s pathetic they can’t compete any other way IMO.
Not because people are interested XBox, but because people are interested in StarField (which was previously in development for PlayStation as well long before MS got to take credit). Microsoft sucks.
In other words hey found a few key regulators that like those wads of MS money.
This is a $75 billion acquisition. Microsoft has deep pockets, but let’s not pretend this won’t come out in higher prices or major job cuts somewhere, possibly to the studios themselves people you like you are clamoring for this deal to close for. Enjoy 3rd place, with a shell of what Activision once was (which honestly isn’t great based on its employee morale and leadership).
I hate that MS has made this the go-to necessity. Those games used to be multi platform like most of the games coming from the other studios they absorbed. It’s the times we live in I suppose.
If Sony had a list of acquisitions I’d like to see it start with Square Enix and From Software.
This is awesome. I love what LRG has been able to bring to market.
Judge whose son works for Microsoft decides in favor of said company. All it took was giving COD to PlayStation for a few more years (a platform that will then lose COD) and putting a cut down build on Switch to win approval. Dumping it onto a few cloud platforms no one has heard of was done just done just to give her the check box she needed. Sad day for gaming to see Microsoft forcing the industry to become a service.
Meta only got it right because of a HEAVY subsidy and data mining. VR is premium, cutting edge hardware tech and little of it is cheap. Valve has pushed the industry forward and will do so again, and that is still necessary to get where VR needs to be quality wise.
Meta found a way to try and make a new market that has yet to materialize (Metaverse). They can be the gateway to casual VR, but IMO I want Valve to keep doing what they do best for enthusiasts. Meta showed w...
I’m guessing you don’t actually own one? I have over 500 games installed on mine with little to no problems on nearly every one of those games. From Scorn to System Shock everything runs great for the most part. Even ancient games like Red Faction run normally.
Controller support and Docked play is well integrated at this point as well, including multi-monitor output. Desktop mode works excellent for most computing tasks and for certain types of games (namely RTS) as wel...
Same here. I don’t bother taking my laptop or Switch when I travel since I got the Deck. It does 90% of what I used to take several other devices for all in one package. I love it.
They’ve been on this track of Improving compatibility from day 1 though. They’ve also already done a limited time price drop once before. I guess competition is always a factor but I think Valve has and will continue to be on Valve time.
Handheld Windows PC’s existed long before SteamDeck, and Valve showed the market how to make them accessible and easy to use and so far that has rewarded them with strong sales that aren’t showing any sign of slowdown yet.
I can’t wait to play the Prime remaster. The Switch has an insane amount of amazing games. Tears of the Kingdom is still keeping me busy after 100 hours.
I wish they would just do a Switch remaster of F-Zero GX and include a track editor, maybe some online rankings or 4 player competitive support with NSO.
Agreed. I can’t think of one franchise or company MS purchased that is now thriving under their “leadership” or their pay to play / sub model.
Good. I’m really glad to see them championing their independence. I’m sick and tired of these mega corporations taking everything over to further their agenda of pushing everything into crappy services.
Microsoft is just playing a game. They want to bait and switch to just enough of a degree their attorneys can make a good case, then they’ll steadily reverse stance. Expect the same on disk based games going forward, and DRM.
Microsoft wants that monopoly on getting everyone stuck between a rock and a hard place on subscribing to game. The more I hear about all of this crap and their destructive self serving motives the more I am convinced I will never buy another Microsoft console. Fool me once during the XBOX One era with their always online DRM promises. They won’t get that chance again.
Is there nothing they won’t try to soak up and ruin. They’ve produced very little “fruit”. The think dumping money on everything just has to create results. Instead they keep ruining historically fantastic studios and making all of their talent flee. Very sad. I’m glad the Sega deal never happened.
Because they’re excellent games. If judged on their appearance alone they look pretty bland. There’s a lot of freedom and depth to AC. I love stopping in to maintain my town and see what’s new every few days, it’s low pressure and feels more personal than most games.
